I'm very late to the party, but I was hoping this thread would be called Open Thread VII (in all regions!).

Any perception you have of relative forum activity over a period of time is almost totally wrong. This is mainly due to such predictions typically comparing whichever given previous peak in forum activity with whichever given cyclical downturn in the same.

Also as I've (probably verbatim) said before, OT would have been fine if anyone had been using it to post things that were actually in any conceivable way "off-topic" instead of the same shit that went in the General forum except people wanted to drag it out for a hundred and twenty boring sucky-ass posts.

Old Overclocked Remix forums had a "UnModerated" board. I spent about five minutes there before I was like, oh man, wow, I'm glad NPF doesn't have anything like that.

No, seriously, UnModerated meaning moderators couldn't do anything in that area.

It was like a giant steaming pile of pornography, internet shock sites, and flaming. Usually the three were intermixed in all the threads.

Tangential note; I was hoping to have my next book project throw in a quick homage to Super Mario Bros 3, but it unfortunately didn't work out that way. "One note upon this whistle will send you to a far away land" was going to be the tagline for a magic item for which the novel revolves around, but I ended up changing the flute's properties. Ah well. I'm still getting a Castlevania 2 reference in here if it's the last thing I do!
