Palin Says Obama Has "Terrorist" Connections

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/...ama/index.html

I'm just speechless.

They're using a vague connection in a blatant, stupid attempt to cast doubt on Obama himself.

My opinion on the McCain campaign and Sarah Palin specifically has just been reinforced.

They're just desperately slinging mud in every feasible direction and hoping at least one potshot sticks.
I am at times unfortunate to be reminded of how increasingly embarassed I am to consider myself a conservative in this day and age. It's like one party doesn't reflect most of my values but is at least rational and intellectual, whereas the other party "technically" "reflects" many of my values, but does so in a completely juvenile, incomprehensively simplistic and unnecessarily belligerent way. Hell, at this point, I guess I'm nearly on my own.

I never venture into Discussion.

As a Canadian, I should be concerned about our own issues. But I have to ask.

What the HELL is the McCain camp thinking? This is an unprovoked and downright insulting comment done by Palin. Did she not learn anything from that Katie Couric interview? I thought that McCain wanted to win this campaign. I am surprised that they allowed her to say that. I know both parties smear their opponent. But a smearing of this magnitude is wrong.

The question is, has Palin become a liability for the McCain camp and can he (or will he) swap out running mates for someone who isn;t prone to shooting off their mouth?

It could be worse. McCain could've asked Ann Coulter to be his VP.

He pretty much can't disown Palin at this point, not that I'm sure it's even legally possible. Even if he wanted to get a different running mate at this point, getting another VP would do even more damage to his already failing repuatation.

And Palin seems to be managed so tightly that I seriously doubt she came up with that on her own.

Also, my mom told me something interesting this morning. In history, only one President has ever made up the difference that Obama and McCain are showing right now. I believe it was Reagan.

Yes I know he could have had her, or Giuliani or Romney or Huckabee or any of them, but at least they are well versed in what they know. Palin has had no international experience. At least the ones I mentioned before have been versed on Federal issue and not just state issues.

Had she spent some time in federal politics, maybe things would be different. But it seems to me that the republicans are setting up for a failure.

Again that is me and I know nothing on the voting habits of the American Populous.

/edit: Unless my memory and history has failed me, didn't McGovern swap running mates? Granted he lost to Nixon but he still switched out because his running mate was treated via shock therapy for depression.

According to Farenheit 9/11, Moore makes the connection that the bin Laden's and the Bushes are connected.

But I am not gonna base all my facts on one source. Especially one so biased against the Bush family (and republicans)

The Bin Laden family have huge business investments in the US as does the Bush family. It is pretty likely they have some connections somewhere.
But the Bin Laden family officially disowned Osama a while back so it's hardly a terrorist link, no matter what else you want to say about it.

I think you are mistaking the Bush's family connections with the Saudi Arabian rulers, which are not terrorists, but overlords of the oil industry. While it is true that the United States wprked Bin Laden in the past, I doubt Bush Sr. or Jr. are directly related to that.

Edit: Or they probably do, as previous posters have said.
