Threads you thought of at 4AM and decided not to post
 

So I was just sitting here thinking of proposing a hypothetical scenario wherein the minimum voting age would be lowered to five years, and posters would be tasked with making it work. I got about two sentences in before I decided it was dumb and closed it.

That made me wonder what crackpot threads YOU people have decided were too screwed up to post. So post thread ideas that you changed your mind about here.

Can't recall any specifics, but when working I'll come up with several ideas, mostly for Discussion, then end up deciding against it cuz I know I'll just end up looking dumb, being pissed, or something else frustrating...

I also can't think up any specifics, but it's an unusual feeling once I've written up a post or thread, then chose not to post it. I feel bad for the little fetus post, and how it will never see the light of day, but I know that it just wouldn't have worked out.

Oh, I've thought of a few: an "I hate my job" thread, "reasons Illinois sucks" thread, "best ways to rehydrate quickly" thread, "what should I dress my daughter as for Halloween?" thread, etc. I don't post them because many topics have the potential for being whiny, many don't have any appeal for the main demographic of this board, and I'm trying to avoid making people sick of seeing and hearing about my daughter or about how much I hate my current job when I'm not in much of a position to land another...and I'm not sure if I've succeeded.

Well, Fifth covered Oakland, I've been tempted to do NYC, and someone's probably done someplace else in the past. So I think some "sucks" discussion would fit, but it gets toxic pretty fast.

Actually, I've wanted to do a thread about regional flavor, but whenever I've started, all the "God dammit I hate this place" seeps in, so I'm holding off. It annoys me because it's not my goal to remind people of where I am and how I feel about it, but it's all-consuming.

After the Obama speech months back, I thought out a little essay about ethnicity and my personal experience as someone with a mixed background. I didn't post it because a discussion of how our culture defines ethnicity and race is really touchy, and it was really the only further discussion that could have been had.

"Your local langage" I forgot what exactly but something to do with how diffrent states say diffrent stuff Like texas says ya'll

I wrote a song called Satan's Camero after the last time I had to sit through Transformers. It's got a bitchin' guitar solo.

Similarly, oftentimes I've felt the urge to post a thread called "the horrible yet awesome thread of learning a 2nd, 3rd, or nth language", yet either a) I forget it, or b) I'm too lazy.

Right now I'm too lazy.

Sometimes when I'm tired I get a really strong urge to post something that would get me banned. Like hate, spam or all-caps. Or almost anything in Discussion.

I wanted to put up a few threads that just showed awesome screenshots from video games, but I never thought it would fly.

I also want to know what Seil's opinion on this thread. I want to know how bad an idea has to be before he goes "Now that's just plain stupid."
