Southpark: The new season has begin (episode spoilers inside)

Well, the new season of Southpark has begun.

I wasn't able to watch last night cause my damn comcast box went on the fritz, and tonight it was interrupted halfway through by a test of the emergency broadcast system, but I did see the episode. I think that Parker and Stone have really started off this season with a bang with the all-too-literal interpretations of Stephen Spielberg and George Lucas raping Indiana Jones, and of course, Butter's legendary marksmanship.

I'm looking forward to seeing where the rest of this season takes us.

The whole Indiana Jones thing was taken a little too far. Yeah, the movie was pretty awful, but calling it rape... it... well, I mean, sure they did all that, but if you look at it the right way... I mean, I just... I try not to think about it. I figure, there's nothing that can be done about it now, but... but... Oh god. Oh god. *sobs*

...Yeah. Nice season starter.

Didn't they already have that episode, where they did the new editions of each movie, and then the kids mention raiders of the lost ark? I could've sworn anyway...

Yep, they did that. I guess they considered the terribleness of the new Indie to be worthy of concept semi-rehash.

Or the complete overreaction of, let's face it, the internet community as a whole regarding their opinion of the new Indiana Jones movie was worthy of a semi-rehash.

Gonna have to agree with you there.

...also, why the hell does everyone have sparkly names? Did I miss a party?

synkr0nized 10-10-2008 09:42 PM

I watched it by accident.

Yes.

Cartman getting pissed at Butters's aim? Kinda funny. Going on and on and on and on about an awful movie? Not so much.

Well, I think it started with Synk, then spread to Fifth and SO. Mac then received it for calling Fifth a pretty princess for having his name glitter, and Meister and Shiney got it after that. POS and Mes got it probably for being POS and Mes.

Yeah. XD

Meh I liked the episode but the older ones are still a lot better. The fact that Butters shot them like that was pretty funny but Cartman going on and on about how awful that was just went into Family Guy's unfunny territory where they try to get that awkward chuckle as the joke just kinda drags a lot longer than it should.

The Indiana Jones thing was funny but the rape scenes were actually kind disturbing in my opinion but meh a lot of time it seems like thats what South Park is going for.

South Park is a unique phenomenon. A humor show where the makers rarely deem to put in any humor.

They spend to much time with their satire somewhere along the way it just stops bing funny.
