Arhra Tries Again

Seeing my recent attempt at an Exalted game didn't pan out, I thought I'd present a few options for RPs that I've been considering to see what people are interested in.

The first one is probably the most developed, but the other two can be worked on more if chosen.

1) Magical Girls!
Undoubtedly influenced by a little too much Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. Not only is the Power of Friendship a powerful force, it is capable of creating coherent beams of pure destruction.

Setting is modern day, with elements of a magical reawakening occuring. Most enemies will be monsters created as a side-effect of this and other players, with the players most probably to align into two major factions based around trying to prevent or allow these forced awakenings to happen. Resolving this divide will be a big element. It's intended to start with the players being ordinary and immediately plunge into the magical events.

There's two distinct varieties of magic, one being closer to what you'd usually associate with the magical girl genre and the other tending towards magitech. They each have their own strengths and weaknesses.

2) Beggar's Ride Redux!
Some of you may recall I ran a fantasy RP some time ago called Beggar's Ride revolving around a flurry of accidentally granted wishes. Unfortunately, it didn't get off to a good start, but I've been thinking about what went wrong and how to fix it.

This redux recycles the setting; a fantasy world where magic is omnipresent. In a lost age many marvels were created, including all non human races. Most have regressed to their normal human state over the ages however. There's a fair few unique races, with spins on a few of the more traditional fantasy races.

The plot revolves around a first age flying castle that has been reactivated. Malfunctioning devices and spells onboard have wreaked chaos on the town it was buried under. The stuff is virtually priceless but it's causing havoc, from simple property destruction, to rogue automata, to magical mutations being induced.

3) Beggar's Ride Redux Version Two!
Seizing on the other major element of Beggar's Ride, this RP would a comedic one. Main premise is an outbreak of wish type effects and (potentially affected) people going after the source whether for simple power or fortune or perhaps to undo what already was done to them. The world would have some D&D trappings.

Observation: I'd be in for #1.

Query: Are magical boys allowed?

You already know which one I'm for, Arhra. I mean, we did work on it over AIM for like the last week.

Answer: Yes. There's... there's just no good unisex term!

And so option #1 leaps ahead to an insurmountable lead!

Heh, well, I'm interested too, for some reason I thought I already stated it in here, but apparently not.

I want in and I want #1. I'm totally wanting to play the evil sorceress bitch.

Teal Mage 10-19-2008 01:04 AM

Oh, why not.

I'd be game for Magicy People game.

POS Industries 10-19-2008 03:07 AM

#1 is the obvious choice.

Will I be involved? I dunno! But you should do it anyway.

I'll go #1. Just so long as Technomancy is cool.

For the uninformed: Technomancy is using magic to control/create machines.
