So how dose the timeline look like?
Our characters have, like, a week before school, or just few days? Is my late introduction even acceptably from the plot point of view?
I wouldn't like to screw anything(more) up, while I forgot to ask earlier...

A late introduction has no problems from the plot side of things.

Of course, you'd have to wait for the timeline to get there.

Next, Phoenix was suggesting you could make the book your familiar. It would be a little unusual, but acceptable.

And seeing how practically every single word in the English language with a 'q' has a 'u' immediately following it, perhaps you shouldn't get so worked up over people misspelling your name? Since it would verge on backseat moderation, I won't touch the rest of what you said there.

Getting angry about misspelling my name is a part of my internet image which I'm not planing to change as long as I'm alive and using the name "Naqel".
As for the rest I know what you'd say, but I made sure that there is at least one rule to which what I said is still true. :D

Oh, sorry didn't notice that.

Also, would it be a big problem if I decided for my character to be in a different class than the rest of the group, and the NPC twins took my place in the class others are going to instead?

I apologise, as Qu's are indeed ubiquitious, as the sound of q goes on with the sound of u.

Do you think I get worked up when people misspell "Pheonix?" because believe me, that one's about as common as Rouge/Rogue. It's cool, though, I'll keep it in mind.

Edit: I apologised last time too, didn't I? Also, yeah I was confused by the assertation you had no familiar, since you're pretty much required to have one. I thought the book was yours.

Waaaaait, are you saying we'll be magically active when we meet? Are we supposed to be active now?

Arhra 10-31-2008 07:25 PM

No problems for me if you want to be in a different class from the others Naqel. Of course, you'd be in a different class than everyone else...

Unless you decide otherwise, yes. The 'default' is encountering your Familiar/Device, monsters and each other, in that approximate order. We then proceed to the sweet, sweet macguffin and fight over it.

All this fuss over a flower...

Shhh, spoilers!

Ah, I was under the impression there was to be an event that awakened our magics.

Arhra 10-31-2008 09:30 PM

It's happening right now.

Krylo 10-31-2008 09:46 PM

So, I don't feel like asking him to stop being an ass, so yeah.

There's too many people, anyway.

Seven days.

Zilla 10-31-2008 09:48 PM

I meant some EVENT. You know. A manifested, tangible one, not an ethereal slumber-rousing thing but a light-switchy "magic is ON" kind of event, wherein our characters then cope with the consequences by easing themselves into their new roles. I don't know where the boundaries are right now as a person, rather than not knowing the boundaries as the character. Are my powers stunted, or in full-effect, and what was the trigger? I wasn't thinking of dealing with these things myself...

Edit: It's so much easier from an Autekka standpoint, because all of their abilities are reliant on a physical object. Here, the Verda thing seems a little off, as now our familiars are somehow related to our ability to cast magic...? I thought Verda magic was intrinsic, and our familiars were an extension of that intrinsic nature, rather than a conduit through which our magic is derived. So really, my quandry is rather Verda specific.

phil_ 10-31-2008 11:15 PM

I think it's supposed to be like

Familiar: "Cast Magic Missile!"
Magical Girl: "The hell?"
Luna: "Just do it."
Sailor Moon: "Moon Tiara Magic."
*magic happens*

So, the familiar is there to get us to jump off buildings and believe we can fly. I think. That's how I was gonna play it.
