But yeah, I've been thinking about this and there's an unprecedented amount of races in the Star Wars canon...how are they going to decide where to limit the number of possible races?

ironymaster 10-30-2008 10:32 PM

They might aim for the better looking and more common races, like the twileks and humans for example. I doubt their going to make the hutts available as a race.

You'll be limited to playing as human, jedi human, emo human, sith human, or a gungan.

So based on what I've read, it seems this game takes place prior to the events of the original KOTOR?

About 300 years after, actually.

It takes place just prior to the beginning of the Star Wars prequels. That's probably what you heard.

As to the actual The Old Republic, I'm seriously thinking I hope that this fails, so that way it will usher in a new era of Not Fucking MMOs for the gaming genre and we can get away from the stupid money whoring.

Yes I know that the industry is about making money but there is a certain point when everyone is making an MMO where we can say it's getting a bit ridiculous.

Also wrong. Takes place about 3500 years prior to the movie series.

And the overly-exaggerated statement of the year award goes to.....

....Not Mirai, actually. That would be unfair of me to say, though this is quite an overly-exaggerated statement.

Mirai Gen 10-31-2008 01:32 AM

Hruh?

Could've sworn I read that in the article. Whups.

ironymaster 10-31-2008 02:23 PM

It won't matter, bioware is only going to release HALF the content anyway. Their going to make the rest of it into an expansion pack and make you pay money for it. They couldn't make a complete game these days if their lives depended on it.

Next stop, abundance of high level dungeons, fuck the rest of us...

God damn it all to hell.
You know why this pisses me off? Because KOTOR and KOTOR2 established such great things and now Bioware's all like "instead of actually continuing the series, we're just going to fastforward 300 years and pretend nothing happened."
I was hoping this would at least be a prequel to KOTOR as that would still leave us some reasonable sense of hope that KOTOR3 was going to come out someday and pick up where KOTOR2 left off.
