Thanks goodness...(XBox related)
...I'm proud to say that I'm the owner of a brand-new XBox. Now, for all you vets out there, I need game suggestions. Here's what I got:
NBA Street Vol. 2 I'm short on money, so I'll most likely go for Platinum Hits titles. Here's my 'Wish List:' Halo Mech Assault Ninja Gaiden SSX 3 Any other good action-based games I should look out for? |
You have an XBox but no Halo? I figured everyone who had an XBox had Halo.
Knights of the Old Republic is good. It's not an action game per say, but it's close enough (And good enough to buy). |
I just got it today, and all I got was:
XBox Power/AV cables 2 "S" Controllers (bought second seperate) 1 Platinum Hit of my choice (NBA Street Vol. 2) Curse Microsoft...Halo isn't a Platinum hit, even though it has the highest sales by far...otherwise I'd have it right now. Basically, I need to find out whch games are worth getting (besides the ones I've listed above). |
Kotor should be next if you like action rpg type games. Halo is....yeah.
|
I can't think of another suggestion for you, but unless you've played Mech Assault before and you liked it, I don't suggest it. Most Mech type games are to slow I think.
If you have XBox Live however, then it's different since online it's better. |
i thought halo was rather boring for story mode.
Vs. mode was a blast though |
You should've waited 'til TOMMORROW! The limited edition trans. green XBox/Halo bundle will be arriving, and it's only $20 more than the standard version.
|
Burnout 2 is a very good racing game, Most proberly the best in the world. SSX Tricky was better than SSX3. I can't really help much more though, as I don't have an X-BOX. (PS2 Rules!!!)
|
Get HITMAN 2 SILENT ASSASSIN. It's a 3 rd person stealth/action game (although you don't have to be stealthy) that can also be played in 1st person view. That game is well worth your 20 bucks. It has a lot of missions, weapons, bad guys, and locales. Plus their are lots of ways to complete each individual mission.
|
I would suggest the first Splinter Cell game, GunValkyrie, and NFL Street.
|
I would say Steel Battloin but if you had that much money you wouldn't have a wish list
|
Ninja Gaiden- Best. Game. Ever.
Halo 2 is coming out this fall/winter. I'm on Bungie Software's beta testing team, so I can keep you up to date on that one if you like. Noticably Rampant, Durandal |
I second Ninja Gaiden. That and KOTOR are the only reason I got my xbox. Well, actually it was a gift, but same difference.
And I proudly state I'm an xbox owner who doesn't have halo! Whoohoo! Armed and dangerous is pretty amusing, though the missions get old pretty quick. |
Also look into getting Tenchu: Return from Darkness. If you like Ninja Gaiden, you will love Tenchu.
Noticably Unstable, Durandal |
Tenchu is nothin like Ninja Gaiden. Tenchu demands stealth, seeing as how you lack great offensive cababilitiy, whereas in Ninja Gaiden it's straight up action. But thats Beside the point. Keep us updated on Halo 2 and if their will be any Covenant on Master Chief multiplayer action.
|
Yes tenchu is a lot more thinking and waiting patiently for your chance to strike then ninja gaiden.
|
Doesn't mean it's any less fun as hell.
Noticably Unstable, Durandal |
Ninja Gaiden, NHL 2004, Splinter Cell (Platnium Hit), and Splinter Cell: PT nothing more
|
In an effort to avoid repeating people and because I genuinely love the series:
Dead or Alive 3. No, not the volleyball game, you pervs. The one that's actually worth playing. Besides, Ryu Hayabusa can kick ass twice as much if you have that and Ninja Gaiden. I love it. But Kasumi's still the best. |
If you want an open-ended RPG, I suggest Morrowind: Game of the Year. That is awesome. Considering that i have it on computer (lags like theres no tomorrow) and on the X-Box, perfect running capabilities.
|
Why would you get Halo, Hitman 2, OR Splinter Cell when they're all available on the PC for a much better control scheme than the shitty xbox controller? I'm not denouncing your purchase, but Xbox Live is where it's at. If you're going to play Halo at all, at least play the better PC version. I guess the only restriction is a good computer, but nowadays even your cheap computers can run em well. KOTOR is available on PC as well. Time to start looking through IGN's 9.9-9.0 review list.
I'd suggest PoP, but that's better on the PC too. Maybe the Grand Theft Auto Double Pack, but both are...well, better on the PC. I guess the double pack is kind of worth it since there are two. For me, since I, find, er, other methods to get my games (most of the time), it's a really efficient method. Even though the PC Enemy Territory (fucking great game) is better, RTCW: Tides of War is good on Xbox Live, I hear. Jet Set Radio Future is a good xbox-only bet. Max Payne 2...better on PC. MGS2: Substance is a good Xbox-only bet as well. Blinx is ok, I hear; NSFU as well, on Xbox Live, but the PC version is superior...DDR: Ultramix is awesome, that's a good purchase. LOTR: ROT is good, too. Donno, I don't know really many good examples. |
Dead or Alive 3 is really my only suggestion, because its the only game I really want that is exclusive to the XBOX and isn't on the PC. Also, DOA: Beach Volleyball, but only if you like item collecting and a pretty good gambling emulator (I actually like both those types of games so I enjoyed the small amount of it I could play). Then again if you like looking at very beautiful girls as well you could get it (because why lie, the game has Hitomi in it, and she's Amazingly hot). And the Volleyball part is pretty fun, but each game is real short.
