So this is actually kind of an older game, but it's awesome and I've been wasting a lot of time on it again recently.
Basically, you get to control all of your character's joints, either contracting or extending (or holding or relaxing) them, in order to control his movements. In multiplayer you have about twenty seconds to do all the changes, or you can hit space if you finish before that. The point? Well that depends on the game. There's judo, aikido, kendo, etc. I'm not 100% sure of the rules in the others, but in Judo the point is to get your opponent to touch the ground with anything that isn't a hand or foot, while simultaneously keeping him from doing the same to you. Judo also makes dismembering your foe easier. Aikido, I believe, is like judo but with harder dismembers, and you have to throw your opponent out of a dojo, or end with more points (gained by doing damage). Really, though, the main draw is the control scheme, which is awesome. Really really awesome. I play as Krylo on there, and am usually in the judo room of my skill level. Right now that'd be intermediate. |
I had the this downloaded a while ago, but never did manage to work out how to do anything really cool. Most of the time I ended up in some wierd breakdancing backfliping fung fu style reminiscent of Eddie Gordo, but nowhere near as fluid.
Some of the pre-made videos were impressive though, especially those where people ripped their body parts off and beat up the other guy with them. |
Oh yes, Krylo showed me this the other night and it's a ton of fun. Sometimes the battles are really epic, with limbs ripping off and everything, and sometiems the battles are just kind of dumb, where you're just kind of twitching around hoping you're not the first one to touch the ground.
But yeah, I'm CelesJessa on there (surprise) I'm usually hovering around the Judo rooms or I might randomly make my own room, but that's usually when I'm just testing different moves with my roommate, and it's kind of pointless. It was pretty epic. The first night I started, people were afraid to fight me. XD |
I'm having trouble beating the dummy in Single Player Free Play, that's how much I suck.
I keep hitting myself. Looks fun, though. Unsurprisingly, I'm Wizardcat, should I ever venture into Multiplayer. |

Most of the time when I played free play, it would just be me twitching around on the ground, unable to do anything, but then I went into multiplayer, and it caught on much faster. |
Yeah, the ONLY thing free play is good for is figuring out opening moves, and even then you have to load the proper mod to get all the game rules set right. Well other than making videos, but even then you'll learn how to control your body much faster in multiplayer. An added plus is that the other players are generally pretty nice. Even the 'assholes' are assholes only in that they're slightly arrogant.
There's lots of "GG" and people giving generalized (and sometimes specific) advice to either side. Lots of people cheer on the 'newer' and 'weaker' people too, mostly to make them feel a bit more confident. The community is generally really great. I like Judo for the easier dismemberment, closer starting distance, longer turns, and longer battles. Also the DQ for tapping any part but your feet and hands. I'd also suggest checking out the wiki for opening moves too. Most of the ones there don't work quite right a lot of the time (as they depend on the opponent doing, or not doing, certain things, and opponents have a tendency to do things you don't want them to), BUT they help you learn how to get power and control your movements better by teaching you how to do a set of moves, and then you do them in multiplay and have to deal with the consequences etc. I actually invented a couple kicks by altering wiki moves slightly. One particularly risky one I call the spinkick of doom (mine or theirs), which involves balling up and flipping completely, 180 degrees over. Depending on what they do this either destroys their arms itself because of the speed of the spin (and them grabbing parts of me on the way past), or destroys my legs or arms (same reason), or on the next round I land with my hands on the ground and both legs curled up right in front of their chest. The one time I got it to work unhindered to the finishing kick, I kicked someone about (assuming toris are 6 feet tall) three feet into the air and seven or eight backwards. |
Is there a way to password a room? You know, so random people don't butt in.

Apparantly, Uke's feet are pretty damned sharp.
NOTE: Change the extension of the file to .rpl. Do NOT try to unZIP it. Thank you. |

Paid servers apparently can, but I'm not entirely sure how to go about buying one as I have no intention on spending money. Quote:
I'd share my replays, but the folder is too big to attach, and I don't feel like doin' like melfice did with them all. |
