And the main characters would eventually learn to like each other. There's no way to get it done if that doesn't happen. So beyond the basic skeleton of fantasy heroes ill-equipped for the task ahead of them, it'd be completely different. But them's the compromises you make in the real world.

Oh, but there's lots of ways to keep it "PG" while leaving in the humor. All you have to do is be better than the writers for sit-coms (not hard) while using the same tools they do (significantly harder), and it would stand a better chance of appealing to the original audience as well as the new one. Y'know, double entendres and whatnot.

One thing you have to leave in: Batman v Doom. Get the rights if you have to, but that needs to stay in.

You know, I'd watch a PG adaptation of the Light Warriors, but I'd watch a PG adaptation of the Other Warriors even more.

I'm much more interested in the entirely new Light Warriors than seeing an adaptation of something I've already read. With a lot of jokes that really only work well in a printed format. Besides, family friendly comic misadventures of a team of misfits can be quite wonderful.

If you're writing a fantasy misadventure, count me officially in, regardless of the rating.

Though I can't help but hope in the deepest part of my heart that you have the Other Warriors in this new version as well.

It needs to be a musical. There aren't enough kick-ass musicals as of late.

I totally said the same thing five minutes ago in another thread.

Besides, if people hate elongated plotlines and label them as filler, then they surely missed that one comic entitled something to the effect of "1.4 years for 20 minutes of gameplay." The whole character of the comic comes from its quaint subplots and fun situations that have really nothing to do with the game that Captain C is only loosely following anyway.

So, in retrospect, I'm glad I made this thread. I love the "ending", whether it's serious or just a gibe at me and that other guy who made that one thread.

Hell, maybe both. I still think it's hilarious.

People grow up, you know? Artists especially, if they're any good.

This is completely understandable. I remember my first job, as a cashier at a grocery store. It was kind of fun and exciting at first, but it got old, y'know? Brian probably had a grand old time making these stupid pointless comics that were never intended for an audience, but eventually he wanted to take a bigger plunge and move up in the world.

No one wants to be stagnant.

I'm not "in a hurry" per se, but I am dying to see how it ends. Is it because I hate 8-Bit? Nope, it's because it's the culminatio of all the great times I had reading it. Everything that has a beginning has an ending... and it's just a matter of acceptance.

Plus, Brian is a great big jerk with endings (Nuklear Age!), so I am looking forward to seeing how he screws us all over. It's usually good for a laugh.

I met him in person (two Connecticons in a row), and he A) said I looked goofy, B) threw up his hands in exasperation when I asked him questions about 8-Bit, during his 8-Bit panel, and C) was never at his booth when I arbitrarily went looking for him.

Very pleasant.

I don't get why people hate on the Nuklear Age ending. I thought it was brilliant.

Axl 12-12-2008 02:13 PM

I'm trying to think of a good example here NC...

So imagine there's a photo booth. Someone walks in and gets their face ready to be photographed. The screens counting down the moment of truth...
3... 2... and right before 1 a boxing fist comes out the bottom and punches them in nads.

I'm pretty sure everyone in existence can agree that is a brilliant premise. But you still cock-punched someone.

NA's ending is a cock-punch. Great, hilarious, makes you cry, makes you a little nauseous, lowers your sperm count... but kind of dirty.

Edit: I realized this also applies to Mountain Dew.
