Chad Kroeger of Nickelback's most memorable quote

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/159...ckelback.jhtml
Quote:

"I feel like there's not enough rock bands out there, especially when we go on the road," said Kroeger, who performs with the Canadian rock outfit on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" on Wednesday night. "It's tough to find other bands out there, because either they're making a record, or they just got done touring. So kids: Start rock bands. Set down the 'Guitar Hero,' learn how to play an actual guitar and start a band, because it's hard to find more bands to put a solid rock-and-roll package together, to get out there. It's getting harder and harder, but I think we've done it."
Ah, hm.

Well, you know, he's got a good point. There certainly aren't enough solid rock bands out there.

There are a lot of good old straight-up rock bands out there. I guess it's kinda hard for Nickelback to see them with thier heads shoved so far up their asses.

Or maybe they're in hiding, afraid of being asked to tour with Nickelback. I know I would be.

If anything, hard rock is in a revival, and Nickelback probably had very little to do with that. Hell, look at the past 2 1/2 months. Three honest-to-God titans of rock have released new albums. Metallica released Death Magnetic. AC/DC released Black Ice. And, come Sunday, Guns N' Roses will finally release Chinese Democracy. That's gotta be indicitive of something.

I don't know how much this adds to the conversation, but I thought I'd toss in that I'd like to choke Chad Kroeger to death.

Just wanted everyone to know. Thanks.

Mike, I'm pretty sure Mirai's joking.

Kudos to Kroeger for becoming the Tim Kring of the musical world however. I'm sure Guitar Hero is sucking away the real musicians of the world like DVR is sucking away the serial-television audience.

This, yeah. I remember seeing a commercial recently wherein a credit card company was having a contest where entrants could go on tour with Nickelback, and I remember asking, "So what does the winner get?"

Eh, I would say the same thing regardless if he was joking or dead serious. Because it could all be directed at Nickelback.

Me thinks someone's a bit bitter (emo) about not getting a track included in any Guitar Hero or Rock Band game.

Insert obvious one song in Guitar Hero = all their songs joke.

And yeah, I was joking. Hence the "ah, hm."

Nickelback has no right to say that, they forfeited any understanding of what a Rock band was when they wrote that country song about "I wanna be a rock star." They're a country band, and as such, can't say jack about rock.

Wow. It's basically like they said, "Hey, let's take an Everclear song, water down the lyrics, and have the instrumentation as thematically inappropriate as is humanly possible!"

How have they not been sued yet? And I don't even mean by Art Alexakis specifically. Just by mankind in general. Humanity deserves some amount of retribution for this.

Hah, yeah, the bar I used to work at (Might I add that I am in hick-o-ville at this point) had this song coming up all the time.

I'm like, wait...a country song about...rock stardom? You don't get much more psyduck than that.
