Why don't we all get together and play a game on Steam. Maybe a nice friendly game of Team Fortress 2 or maybe we could all load up Zombie Panic and eat each other's brains?

Ooh! I'd love to play Team Fortress with you guys. I share an account with my sister (it was MY account, but I let her play on it once and now she loves it.... and gets waaaaaaay better scores than me XD), and I only really get online at ungodly hours of the morning, but if it could be worked out, I'd totally play. Then you'd all learn how much I suck at Team Fortress. FUN-GINEER AND FAILMEDIC FOR THE WIN!

This sounds like fun, I'd like to join in a game of TF2 as long as you guys don't mind me making you all look really good in comparison to how much I suck. Steam has an in-built chatroomy kinda thing for groups so it'd be easy to arrange something on that.

For the record, I play medic or sniper.

I always thought the idea of a NPF clan/server would be fun. Though I was unsure we could get enough people

I thought they were working on a cross platform patch for XBL.

considering they aren't getting the upgrades for free, I doubt it. Especially since the set up is different. Maybe PS3 to Xbox, but PC to xbox isn't too likely

Bah, looks like they were doing a Xbox-PC cross, but found that it was too annoying to deal with balancing mouse/keyboard against gamepads.

I've been meaning to look for an excuse to play TF2 again and Left 4 Dead as well with people I (somewhat) know.

The regular folk of the servers I played on are all starting to drift away and are being replaced with complete idjits...i.e. the kind that think just because the server is all-talk and encourages witty clever mic-spam that they can scream into the mic full blast for minutes on end.

So with that said, I'm for this.

I'd be all for a TF2 game. Everyone needs a Medic.
I'm sure we could just find an empty server and hijack it. Or something. I have an old server lying around but I'd rather not knock out the power to the city block.

Also, just throwing this out there, but there are lots of other multiplayer games on Steam besides TF2 and Left 4 Dead. I know that not everybody can afford to get new games all the time, and some of us might still be running some less than stellar computers. So if anyone wanted to play something cheaper or older, that'd be good to suggest too.

I'd actually be in on this, provided it's at the right time. I've been playing more recently, so it wouldn't be that bad of an idea, either. Of course, I might bring a friend in on this because he loves TF2 waaaay more than I do, but I don't think that'd be a problem at this point.

Also, Left 4 Dead would be awesome to me. I'd actually like to play it with more than just one other person, for once.

My skill level alternates between pathetic and nearly-invincible, but TF2 is fun either way, so I'm in...as long as it's not next weekend. (Finals sappin' mah Saturday!)

Count me in for some TF2. Ness I've actually been meaning to throw you an invite or something it just doesn't seem like we're ever on at the same time.

Alphanums sent me an invite for some Left 4 Dead the other day but I don't have that game (tryin' not to buy new stuff until I get through at least some of what I've previously bought) and I've played a couple TF2 matches with him so I know he's probably down.

For TF2 my preferences are anything out of like, Sniper/Pyro/Medic/Heavy. Occasionally Scout if only because he's like the official CTF Superhero. Engie bores me, I never seem to get my Sentry set up anywhere it'll do real damage. And Soldier/Demo I seem to mostly just do a whooooole lot of ineffectual missing. (also kinda true with Sniper but I find the style of play to be much more enjoyable).

to be fair i always wanted to play any FPS with the people from here but i would not be able to resist the urge to sing "Never gonna give you up" during gameplay

I haven't been playing very much TF2 myself, due to school and work, and whenever I do get on Steam its to play Zombie Panic Source at 5 am.:shifty:

Also, the engineer is my favorite class to play because he is both the single most tactical and and somehow least tactical class at the same time. Plus I am a mean mofo with a wrench and shotgun when I get some practice in.

Why don't we settle on Friday (Tonight) and Saturday as the game days?

Lets compile a list of the games we have so we can find some common games to share.

On my steam account I have... TF2, HL2: Deathmatch, Counter Strike (NOT Source), Day of Defeat (NOT Source), Earth Special Forces (HL1 Mod, also... ITS OVER 9000!), Natural Selection (HL1 Mod), and Zombie Panic! Source (HL2 Mod).

I have the Orange Box on my PC, but I haven't really played anything but 75% of HL2 and Portal. I'd be down for some TF2, but I have to warn you, I suck. Pretty hard. I need a lot of practice.

I also have Left 4 Dead, but I can't play it with you weirdos, buying stuff left and right.

I dunno, in theory I should like the engie in that he appeals to my view that all FPSs should actually be Starcraft. But somehow he just doesn't do it for me.

I think we need to create a new NPF group because it was some random guy who I dont think even posts on the forums anymore who created it and none of us can create event and stuff.

well I have finals monday and tuesday, then school is a non-issue. Still busy tuesday and wed afternoons but weekend games work good for me anytime

My preferance is... well I dont have one. I play basically every class competantly so I go with whatever the group needs for a given situation. So I am not a master of any class, but I'm versitile.

Are the Team Fortress servers on big thing, or are there separate servers for PC, PS3, XBOX, etc?

'Cause I'm thinking that I'm not gonna get to play with all youse guys - based on the presumption that having a copy of the PS3 version of TOB is pretty rare 'round these parts.

Servers are separate for consoles and PC.

Totally civil war.

Yeah, civil war is about the only choice anyway...TF2 is pretty restrictive with team sizes (you can't join a team unless [number of players on the other team] >= [number of players on the team you're joining]) so getting everyone on one team would be pretty difficult.

We should do Garry's Mod.

I made Fifth and Synch officers to the group because we need more than a single person who can fiddle with the stuff and they are Mods here hence they have proven they do not abuse their powers too much.

So I asked for Christmas some help in funding me getting parts for a new computer. I mean, mine runs things fine, but it's showing its age (slightly over 4 years now, though its life was greatly boosted with a video card upgrade this summer). Mostly I just want more HDD space and an excuse to get multiple-cores. In any case, I'll have to push some older games off to make room for TF2.

Yeah, I thought about that and everything, but I stand by what I said. I mean Fifth has never pull anything above the level of shenanigans on this forum to my knowledge.

I would totally jump in for some TF2 but my computer is like six years old and barely ran TF2 as it was, now the video card is coughing and sputtering so I'm going to have to wait till post-New Years when I can afford a decent rig.

Ness if you wanna do a new 1st post summing up where all things stand in terms of like, who's down for what games, the new group people're supposed to join, what all people's steam names are, maybe what times you wanna start doing things, that'd probably be good for getting everyone on the same page.
