How Are You?
I haven't been on NPF like like a forever amount of time. Been missing you guys a bit actually so... How are you? What is new with your life? Working on any fun projects?
As for me, I'm still out of a job but I do have unemployment benefits and generous parents & in-laws so I'm still eating. I am starting on some kinda fun projects - an Turn-Based Battle system that I started has been eating up a lot of my time, I'm considering programming an actual .exe or something but C++ looks really really scary. But I still have bugs to work out in the system anyway & I need help writing a tutorial anyway so, programming is probably premature at this point. Also, I'm trying my hand at doing some audio recording with a friend of mine. I'm currently in love with the idea of Radio Dramas so I've been listening to a lot of BBC Radio shows like Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and then some newer stuff like 'The Department'. Also! It is snowing and icy here which is weird cause its been years since we had a good snowfall. My apartment overlooks a duckpond and the ducks are either too stupid to fly south or their wings are clipped, so they sort of just sit on the iced-over pond looking confused. I wish I knew what they were eating. But enough about me... What is NPF up to these days? |
let me tell ya... being unemployed in he same year a economic crisis blows up is not fun. I've been around that dance for months now. And yet i cant see any change at least up to march 2009! The current plan is to simply get a job as a Oil Rigger and be happy with that for a while...
It's supposed to be almost summer here right now... and im used to 39~42°C days during that time of the year . But thanks to our current Global-Bio-Meltdown it's like, freaking rainning here pretty much everysingle day this month... it's nice, i dont like it when it's too hot.... but without a job and no car im pretty much stuck at home hunting for jobs online... Being good actually! Not as good as 2007 was, i have cable tv, broadband, a wii, a pc, home, food, hot water and a girlfriend... so i pretty much dont have any right to complain! |
Yeah come to think of it I'm doing surprisingly well for being unemployed myself. Thank goodness my wife's job hasn't been outsourced yet!
Oh and also my grandparents randomly gave me their Van which runs exactly 1.3 Kajillion% better than our other cars. |

If it's really that much better, I bet it can. |

I defend my dissertation project proposal tomorrow.
I am going to explode.
At about 2:00 tomorrow afternoon, I may have avoided exploding. |

Well my PSP's LCD broke, and this is the second one I've had that happen to. Costs about 99 bucks to repair. I'm trying to get a new computer so it's been filed on the "Fuck This Shit" list. Still trying to get something good enough to get published. Hopes are good for this next one.
Also I'm trying to rewrite my genetic code to make myself into a Metroid. It's taking quite a while. Quote:

I'm not doing so well privately with my job. Being a hotel clerk sucks. Getting training as a bartender isn't available much and I can't find anything with higher or even equal pay. I wonder if there's somewhere I can go to find out about different types of jobs and what to expect paywise without training.
Personally I'm quite well. I'm moving out at the end of the year to pursue a year out of college to learn how solo living works. I may get a roommate, but I've only paid all on some of my bills and half on the rest so far and I'm looking forward to being able to pay all of them on my own. Very excited for it, too. Someone I love has been keeping me company and it's made me very happy for now. Going through a bit of existential crisis now politically. I never knew how unhappy I was with the government until this thing with Greece happened. |
I'm sick. Which helps a lot with Bell. I had to do some billing thing and when I called I got their automated customer response thing. After a lengthly bit of navigating through the list of options, I got to "Billing." Though you have to sync your voice with a previous recording of yourself as a privacy thing.
But I'm sick, so my voice isn't the same. So after successfully applying privileges for my sick self to use my well self's phone account, I got the option to speak with a real live person. Who promptly told me that the charges owing on my bill had already been withdrawn from my account and I didn't actually have to call at all. Other than that, I am also doing surprising well for an unemployed person. I'm hoping to get some part time work in soon, though. |
