Fallout 3 discussion
to keep the LP clean, and because its worth talking about in general, I made a thread for us to talk about Fallout 3
You know perhaps it was because I dealt with little lamplight, but I am ashamed to say I loved Paradise Falls. Rather then insults, put downs, and dirty looks, I was respected and people gave me stuff because "I deserved it". Which makes me hesitant to kill them all. But I dont see much reason not to, there doesn't seem to be any side quests except the child freeing, slave trading, and assault rifle thing. Most of which you can still do if most of them are dead |
Ok, for the uninitiated, what exactly is Little LampLight about?
For the most that I gather, it's about Bebe's Kids destroying your ego twenty ways from Sunday without you being able to shoot them in any way. |
thats about it, they are little kids, some, especially the mayor, insult and threaten you. This isn't too bad, but its the fact you cant do anything about it. You cannot kill children, or even injure them. So you can litterally be the most powerful human alive, and not only do they still think they can intimidate you, but you have no choice but to take it.
|
So... A house can't fall on them either?
|
You know, I didn't really mind the Talon mercs attempting to kill me; it was adorable the way they kept trying no matter how many times I slaughtered them. Then they had to go and shoot at my dog instead of me. So far, I've left smoking craters where two of their big camps used to be; one near Greyditch, and another at the south end of the map. Turns out mercenaries are as vulnerable to hot plasma as everyone else. Anyone know where else they're located?
|
speaking of the Talon company, or to be more exact their good karma analogs, the regulators. Where the heck are they? I know the mercs have bases here and there, but these guys seem to just pop up out of nowhere. Not that I mind, as each kill gives me an awesome new long coat. Just curious if there is actually a place handing out these bounties
|
The Regulators are based out of some farmhouse northeast of Scrapyard, due north of the Raider Armory, its got some mutie cows around it. Though I doubt that there's anyone there unless you pick up the Lawbringer perk kinda like the guy you sell ears to at the south end of the Scrapyard with the Contract Killer perk.
About the Talon Mercenaries: The Capitol Building is infested with the mercs and super muties. They guard the main satellite array towers in the northwest corner of the map, and they'll keep re-spawning there after you clear that place out. Same with Fort Bannister. I have to admit I enjoy killing both groups once I'm high enough level. Free supply of laser rifles, assault rifles, and other loot - and the mercs armor can be used to repair your combat armor, especially the armor you pick up for helping Reilly's Rangers. |
Reily's Rangers was the first time I recall in a game where "you have to hurry" was litterally. By the time I finally got to the top of the building only one was left alive and agro'ed. Then I went back and Reily herself was going berserk
On the topic of repair, it seems there is some grouping. From what I saw any raider armor can be used to repair other raider armor. |
I haven't found any unique weapons yet or invested in the Repair skill to invent, something I've sworn to myself to do second time around as Super Evil Girl.
|
you dont need repair to invent, just to avoid getting it in poor condition. can always take it to someone to get it fixed. Besides homemade weapons are the best, you can make a flaming sword
