I'm rather fond of "EMBRACE CAPITALISM OR BE ERADICATED!"

Might have said democracy, now that I think of it....

"OBSTRUCTION DETECTED. COMPOSITION: TITANIUM ALLOY SUPPLEMENTED BY PHOTONIC RESONANCE BARRIER. PROBABILITY OF MISSION HINDRANCE... ZERO PERCENT!!"

Rare a NPC gets such awesomely over the top one liners

Yes, Liberty Prime is awesome incarnate. As soon as I realised they were going to launch him, I started to flip on Evangelion music, but then I flipped over to Libera Me From Hell, realising that was far more appropriate.

If I may offer another excellent song for this scene, start just as you exit the citidal. The great anthem to invasion, Hell's March

Solid Snake 01-05-2009 08:55 PM

Oh come on now, the original Hell's March from the original (still the best) RA is where it's at. In this new version you can't even hear the marching in the background!

EDIT: Proof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tb-gI_pFog0

better song does not make for better background music. I just think 3 suits it better, yea you cant hear the marching but considering the fact there are only half a dozen of you it seems out of place

Mirai Gen 01-06-2009 01:48 AM

Hell's March and Hell March 2 are kind of equally awesome, there's no point in debating which is more awesome.

Liberty Prime is great, yeah. It cracks me up that your first instinct is to tell him the war was over hundreds of years ago but then you're like, eh, well, to him the Enclave is the Communists so it's okay.

Aerozord 01-06-2009 02:39 AM

that was abit of fridge logic to me. Why does he view them as communists? I guess they changed his targetting but honestly enclave and brotherhood power armor looks basically the same. That and its mission, it seemed like if they reprogrammed it to that level then it wouldn't mistake downtown DC for Alaska

Solid Snake 01-06-2009 02:42 AM

I don't see it as "fridge logic" at all, because if I'm a Brotherhood member with any degree of technical programming ability that's exactly how I'd reprogram Liberty Prime to interpret his surroundings.

Mirai Gen 01-06-2009 02:46 AM

I interpreted it as "Go to A, A = Lincoln Memorial and kill any resistance in the way."

Someone starts shooting, kill them.

The reason he touts Capitalist Civil War propaganda is A - because it's funny and B - that's who programmed him, propaganda-spewing tech developers.

Ah yes, the Civil War. My favorite battle to read about is that one where U.S. Grant and George Washington fought the Russian Communists in Iraq. It was pretty awesome, especially when the ninjas showed up.

Getting attacked by 4 Yao Gui at oncein the middle of the wasteland, then have random Super Mutants with rocket launchers and Miniguns show up is always fun.
