#1078: "But she's dead now."

Thief may be out of his league here.

Thadius 01-03-2009 12:29 AM

There's no two ways about it, he is out of his league here.

His only hope is to use his ninja-speed to make people disbelieve in the trickster god all over the earth simultaneously. Thus, without anyone believing in him, the trickster god will vanish, and Thief will be free.

Question is, will Thief see the solution before it's too late?

thief has no way of thieving his way out of this one. his only chance is to ninja out.

...unless Raven is also the god of ninjas, then thief is royally screwed.

Finally, Thief meets his match. I can't wait to see how this plays out.

As far as the last row of panels, I'm not afraid to say that I really don't like the "Of COURSE I didn't [insert thing which I actually did and which I am now proceeding to explain at suspiciously great length and in suspiciously great detail lol lol but hey seriously you guys believe me don't you]!" veiled confession joke. There was one of them in every strip for the first hundred strips or so, and now it's a really tired gag. And yet, for all that, I kind of find it hilarious that Drizz'l is forced to resort to such a stale old tactic at this late point in the game. And that Bikke of all people is able to call him out on it.

Maybe all this is exactly what Brian wants me to feel.

God, he's got me no matter which way I turn.

Anyone else notice that BM's now-classic slang has returned? I double noticed.

I don't think either ninjutsu or theology works that way.

Or comedy.

I imagine it being similar to the tale of Lemmiwinks, actually.
