I've been skimming through Avariel tonight (Because I'm bored). I'm curious to know who of here has been there and actual RP/Posted there? The people there all seem intelligent (From what I've skimmed), and the RPs don't seem to go to fast, so it might be a good place to join an RP if here ever gets slow.

I've joined there, but never posted. And for your information, I am Forever_Zero because someone else took my regular name...

It seems alright, but it seems a little slow. There aren't a ton of RPs on there it seems to me, and there are no allowances for random insanity it appears. Also I imagine that since the Mods keep a close eye on it, being RPers and all, that you wouldn't be able to get away with the stuff you get away with here...

EDIT: And I don't like all of their rules on RPing. It seems a good system, but a bit too strict for my blood...

Which is why I got bored of it when I joined, since it's mainly just RPing. That's why I figured it would be a good part time RP place.

The rules aren't as bad as I thought I remembered, but I still disagree with the 100 post lock limit. It makes chapters too short, and it can cut off RPs in awkward places, or stop a thread in the middle of something. Other then that, the rules look fair for the most part.

EDIT - I've got nothing against rules, I just don't like strict rules that heavily restrict what you can/can't do, and/or rules that I don't agree with that in my mind serve no logical purpose.

Right, of course we do, and there is no way that the nearly 400 post WoD interest thread can exist in that case!

The Mods are more lax here, and personally I like it that way. Popular majority has sort of scripted a set of rules that most people follow, the RPers here are a good bunch, and while sometimes RPs do go too fast and become Post-a-thons, for the most part they go at a quick but not too fast rate. And even when the RPs are done for the night because most people have logged off, I can chat/spam it up with some others (Cough, who know who they are...) for fun until I get tired and pass out at my computer or go to bed. On a strictly run Forum, we would all probably have been banned long ago for some of our conversations, but I see them as being totally acceptable and don't have a problem with them, so I wouldn't see a banning as totally fair.

And you haven't even RPed in a while. You did one post a couple of hours ago in the Ragnarok RP, but besides that you haven't done anything (For quite some time), I figured you'd like the slowness of Avariel.

We use it, but we don't go "Oh! it his 100, time to stop everything, even if it's an akward moment and make a new chapter!" (and I'm usually the one who's uses the 100 post limit the most) And it's usually just because most everything for that moment can be taken care of in around 100 posts, not because we absolutely have to.


And I like these forums. ^^ Even though some of the conversations... are slightly disturbing... It's nice to be able to just talk to everyone and have fun like that.

Ragnorak was going too fast for my blood. And I got distracted by life, so by the time I could come back, it was way beyond where it had been where I left it, and I decided to just wait until the Post-a-thon came to a stop. All I can think to post now is, "Vace goes up to the bar and grabs a free drink, then sits back and listens to the others conversations."

Also, I haven't been doing as much as of late because I've been distracted once again by life (Which is hectic right now as I've whined in the past), or by other things. I've gotten into UO as well, and now krylo and I are devising an RP, as well as the WoD RP that I unveiled way too soon and shouldn't have brought up until I was closer to ready...

My life's just crazy right now is what it all boils down too, and I just haven't liked the crop of RPs as of late. I may call for more moderns, or more sci-fi, but then I'm dissatisfied with what comes up in those categories, and I feel that Fantasy is done to death so I'm never as interested to join those anyway.

And on a side note, hey Celes, your on late, isn't is 2:30 AM your time?

And if I have my way, you'll be able to class as a slut!
