Playoffs/Super Bowl thread

So, who's going to the big dance this year?

What I would like to see is a Giants/Dolphins Bowl because I have become a Chad Pennington bandwagon jumper since we unceremoniously booted him from the Jets. Now, after he got sweet poetic revenge on Mangini by getting him fired for this year's monumental collapse, I wouldn't mind him taking Miami all the way. A game like that would really be a win-win.

Kind of sad Manning and the Colts got sent home last night, but the Chargers had been getting screwed in the worst way all season. Really looking forward to the next few weeks.

As for the Jets, my dad just got the tickets in the mail for the playoff games that never happened. We're planning on mounting them with an autographed poster he has. :(

I realized as I wrote this that I don't have a Terrible Towl :(

I was born into a Steelers household, and I will remain a Steelers fan forever. We've had some great seasons in the past, and we do pretty well each year.

This year, though, despite getting the #2 seed and a bye, I don't expect to be happily watching us in the Superbowl, let alone the AFC championship. It'd be nice, though... we'd really have to step up our game.

I'm currently thinking it will be a Miami/NY Superbowl, but Tennessee and Carolina aren't ones to just push aside this year.

Falcons. Vick is gone, rookie QB is doing pretty well, and dammit the Cowboys are GONE.

This is a new age of Foozeball!

...

And then all that went away with a loss to the Cardinals. :(

I have a dilemma. I have always been a Panthers fan ever since they lost to the Rams by an inch on the superbowl that happened to fall on my birthday. However, I loathe all things New England so I am also an Eagles fan. Again however, I am a New Yorker and also love the Giants. In the end, hopefully one of my teams will win, but I'm gonna have a hard time choosing who to root for (though I'm leading to my hometown Giants).

i am a Die-hard Giants fan, and I think we could go all the way again. Loosing Burress was a minor setback, but as long as Jacobs is in we'll be fine.

Bob The Mercenary 01-06-2009 08:54 PM

Yeah, I wouldn't exactly call losing Burress a handicap. What with the Giants almost beating Carolina with nothing but second and third stringers.

I think it's going to be Baltimore and Carolina in the Superbowl.

Could totally be wrong on that one, though.

Which would be fun as Hell

Well, so far things haven't gone how I expected this postseason. It's even possible for a Pennsylvania bowl to happen.

Solid Snake 01-11-2009 06:22 PM

I'm rooting for Arizona to actually win a Superbowl for a change, personally.

DarkDrgon 01-11-2009 06:54 PM

I am disgusted with my team. That is all.
