Essence is how your mages avatar affects the world. Beyond that I think we'll need a rulebook quote. I can't actually remember all 3 types of essence...

Basically essence is what the avatar is trying to do. An inner desire as it were.

Beyond that either FZ or reality will have to take it form the book (unless reality can explain it on her own)

however in my experiance essence has little or no effect on the game and no direct effect whatsoever. It's just another tool the GM can use to show how your charecter releates to magick and the world.

however seeing as FZ has his hands full just learning the universes and the rules he probably won't be using that tool very much so I don't think you'll have to worry bmuch about your essence. Just pick one that sounds right for your charecter.

If Dante left, then who will be DM-ing? FZ?
On a side note, is there any page limit for threads on the rp side? This is 7 pages for me, and I do 40 posts per page.

I am the GM, and always was! Dante is Co-GM, since I trust him and he knows the systems very well, even the Demon book, so he is helping me in the NPC and Background info, along with getting up those sign-ups. And you are dangerously close to getting smited for that...

I really need to buy KotR and finish playing that... I got disappointed that I couldn't repair HK-47 because there is no use for Repair skill besides repairing him so I never made it, then it was to late to start investing in it (Stupid game won't let you use that other robot or the wookie to fix him...)

Yep. Thought it was a good time for an avatar change, and while I haven't been able to play KOTOR (Damn my dinosaur computers!), I liked all of his quotes I heard, and in the comic he was great, thus my new avatar.

And no smiting will be necessary. I'm just on edge, because tomarrow I'm going to be gone most of the day on this big Grad Night thing at Disney. Anyone have any questions, ask now, since I will most likely be out of it most of Saturday and Sunday (Its basically an all night part at Disney, thus no rest for the weary, but it should be fun.)

EDIT: The types of essence are Dynamic, Primordial, Pattern, and Questing. It's sorta like the Grand High Resonance template for your mage...Does your magic tend to involve spirits, strange, forboding dreams, an Avatar that resembles an element or some mythical creature? You might be Primordial. I can't find my flippin' Mage book, so I can't give you a direct quote, but I'll be happy to answer whatever questions I can. Essence doesn't exactly affect game mechanics stuff, but it could affect things like what form a Seeking will take.
