Holy crap! A Metal Gear fight!? Where did I miss out!?

Yes, MGS2's Metal Gear was codenamed Ray.

Metal Gear Mk II does not exist. It was some cover-up by the CIA or FBI. Yeah, it's ironic that they would cover something up by saying a nuklear-capable war machine was on the face of the Earth. Either that, or it was a rumor spreaded among the army that Solid Snake had taken on a Metal Gear Mk II. For more details, read my fanfiction.

So, since Metal Gear Mk II never existed, Ray wins.

For those of you who're asking "how does Metal Gear Mk II not exist?", it's because Snake's Revenge was a bootleg Metal Gear game, was not made by Konami nor endorsed by Hideo Kojima, and therefore is not part of the Solid Snake timeline.

Metal Gear MK II was in Snatcher, a Sega CD game, not MGS. Snatcher does take place in the MGS continuity though. It was a little blue toaster thing. The little guy had a personality and everything. In the end, he essentially won the game for you.

Snatcher didn't even have Snake in it. It was about an American spy who was in Russia during the cold war.

Edit: In MGS 2 you can see posters for the sequal to Snatcher, Policenaughts (I could be incorrect with regards to the manner in which the title was spelled.)

I've got a new one:
Diablo vs. Mephisto vs. Baal

I myself would go with Diablo.

In the mage fight, Merlin wins. It's true he never does much that's powerful, but he has SUPER precognition. His life is backwards, meaning that he doesn't know the past, but he knows the entire future, just like we know what happened yesterday. As a result he would know everything that Elminster, Dumbledore, and Gandalf are going to do before they do it.

He's also EXTREMELY likely to cheat due to just this fact. Such as: "Hey Arthur, could I borrow excalibur tomorrow... because I'm due to have my ass handed to me." Now... considering excalibur is enchanted to make it's wielder ALWAYS win...

So, yes, Merlin knows what will happen, and that makes him god like in preperations. He's also reputed to be very powerful... the most powerful wizard ever. Granted, he's not from the same 'universe' as the other two... but he's still probably got some neato tricks and abilities up his sleeves...

Didn't Gandalf only win because of that lightning strike on the endless stair? It's been a while since I read the book, but I'm pretty sure they were at a stand still up until that point. I guess that does say something about Gandalf's stamina though.
Well, that was what got him yanked down into that pit with the Balrog.

After that, they spent what was pretty much an eternity locked in battle, after which Gandalf came back, as Gandalf the White, to help fight Sauron. I'd call that pretty godly.

But yeah, I thought I remembered Merlin having that living-backwards BS. 100% flawless precognition pretty much wins hands-down.

Dragonsbane 05-18-2004 06:08 PM

That was just in The Once and Future King............Merlin didn't have backwards-time-memory........and I already said we aren't including him in this fight.

Krylo 05-18-2004 06:21 PM

That was in the official writing of the story that I read for college prep reading... That is the fact.

And maybe I missed where you took him out...

In that case, Elminster wins easily. There's not even any challenge to it.

Dragonsbane 05-18-2004 06:31 PM

heh.......Elminster also has a much better love life than Gandalf or Dumbledore.....he deserves points for that, at least!

Samurai Jack vs. Drizzt Do'Urden

BMHadoken 05-18-2004 06:51 PM

Samurai Jack wins because hes destined to live 'till hes old and beard covered, then he goes back to the time portal, beats that one fat dude, and goes back to hand Aku's ass to him.

Unless this Drizzt character has a predestined future, he can't win.

Krylo 05-18-2004 07:01 PM

Nah, the future isn't predetermined. Destinies can be altered, otherwise Jack's entire struggle is pointless.

And, really, Jack couldn't hurt Drizzit. His sword won't harm those that are pure of heart/good. Drizzit is both of those things, thus the blade wouldn't harm Drizzit. Once Jack realized that, he'd probably not fight anymore... but if, for some reason, the fight continued, Drizzit would turn him into sashimi for just that reason.
