They are fighting because they where both dropped in an arena and told, "FIGHT TO THE DEATH!"...

if you did that, they wouldn't be fighting eachother...........they'd just be working together to escape your maniacal clutches:p

You do not question why they are fighting, you just have them fight. Let's just say God warped them into the place they are fighting and told them that they have to fight to the death or stop existing.
