He can be far away. Gadget has stretching arms, that can twist and turn.

yeah..........Wonka wouldn't stay around once he had Gadget immobilized.......
and once Gadget gets his arm free.......how can he see to twist and turn his arm? His face will still be covered

It's not like it would take Gadget an hour... A couple of seconds is all he needs. Wonka can't run away in a couple of seconds (His elevator is not there).

And I know he can't see, which would then cause him to have no idea where his arm is going, so it would twist and turn as needed to hit Wonka because of Gadget's extreme amount of luck.

Think of Irresponsible Captain Tylor for how lucky Gadget is (For you anime viewers).

Gadget's arms have a limit(I seem to remember one episode where his hand didn't quite reach a ledge while he was falling, but Brain caught his hand and pulled him up). A few seconds can still put a lot of distance between Wonka and Gadget. I'm sure Wonka's a good runner; even though he makes all that tempting junk food, look at how slim and fit he is.

Wonka would never run. Since he is a bastard, he would make some mention of Gadget being an idiot after he watched Gadget get stuck, then turn around and walk away all cocky like, then get a metal hand right in the back of the head.

Edit - If Wonka does run though, I forgot how far Gadget's arm goes, but Wonka doesn't seem like much of a runner.

Edit 2 - The Oompa Lumpas do all the work, and he rides that wierd train thing around most of the factory (Or the elevator). I doubt he does much physical activity.

Then he'll just bring his cane up to bat away Gadget's hand, or he'll just some other candy on Gadget's hand.
Besides, Gadget's luck only seems to be helpful when Brain and Penny are around. If they weren't, he would stumbl over himself so much he wouldn't get the chance to find and accidently capture his enemies. He'd be a pancake on the street, or some other catastrophe.

Which kinda gets me thinking...

What about Gadget vs Gizmo Duck(Duck Tales)? Reember that Gizmo Duck has the "press every button on the suit" super-mega-weapon.

Wonka wouldn't be able to bat away the metal hand. The hand would bat away the cane then punch him.

Gadget is some times with out Brain and Penny, yet he still catches the bad guy out of pure luck.

WTH? When does Gizmo's suit ever break down? He got stripped by some menacing machine, and his suit shrank when his mother didn't dry-clean it, but I've never seen it break down. I mean, it was made by Duck Tales' top scientist(I forget his name), and everything that guy invents is really powerful and always works.

I remember his suit breaking down/stop working all the time. Or maybe he would just hit buttons that would do something and it ends up back firing..

Yeah, when he would hit all the buttons at once, he would explode and case a big explosion.
