On the one hand, there's no helmet anywhere in that list of equipment, and laser canon to the face is always a win. On the other hand, with that pendant of haste, the human might be able to dodge the massive robot's attacks.

That is, he might, were Megatron any ordinary robot. But Megatron is far more -- he's a robot in disguise.

Megatron would transform into a Walter PPK7. The fighter, wondering what happened to the giant robot, would walk over to the gun. Not knowing what it was (having no experience with modern weaponry), he'd pick it up, and look it up, and eventually point the barrel at his face, at which point Megatron would shoot him in the head, transform, and enjoy a long, satisfying megalomaniacal laugh.

let's say the fighter has a +5 Corrosive Bastard Sword (instead of longsword)......Fighter wins, lasers deal fire damage and he sounds like he has a resistance to that

Universal resistance grants him improved saving throws as I recall.

But lasers do a LOT of fire damage, and if he doesn;t have a ring of elemental immunity he's screwed. Elemental damage ignore DR, AFAIK.

Plus, Megatron's much larger and would probably kick the fighter around like a rag doll.

BitVyper 05-24-2004 09:04 AM

I wouldn't really count the size difference too too much. Fighter's that level are getting to the point where they'll be taking on some of the really really big things.

BMHadoken 05-24-2004 09:05 AM

So you're saying that with all that DnD junk, he'd be able to survive a skyscraper falling on him over and over? Cuz thats what Megatron stomping on him would do.

BitVyper 05-24-2004 09:15 AM

I'm not saying that. However, stepping on someone who is permanently hasted is easier said that done. I'm really not sure how this one would swing.

BMHadoken 05-24-2004 09:17 AM

Megatron blasts a moat around Fighter, trapping him. Then he starts stomping, eventually he's gunna hit and Fighter's stuck to his foot like gum.

And how is Fighter supposed to fight Megatron? Poke his toes?

BitVyper 05-24-2004 09:25 AM

That's what the ring of flight was for. Check out the magical equipment. This isn't 8 bit fighter, this is a generic D&D fighter with a ton of magic on him.

Dragonsbane 05-24-2004 11:38 AM

Megatron wouldn't be able to hit him since he's Hasted........his Fire Resistance would stop the lasers........and it wouldn't be smart of Megatron to stomp on someone with a big, magical sword. (DR is Damage Reduction, not Damage Resistance..........most fighters of that level have something to block common forms of elemental damage, and I'd recommend giving this fighter one).

Megatron won't be expecting magic, he blasts a moat arond the fighter, the fighter flies out and slashes Megatron's throat with his +5 Corrosive Bastard Sword
