The pirate thing is simple. About the only time he vanishes his when he does that one move where he jumps up over your head and comes down. So he just modifies it to land behind the pirate and turn around. When does Kenshin ever move that fast while dodgeing in a fight. Plus while fighting Riddick has only one emotion, anger. As for being the one on the offensive in the new movie Riddick actually dodges and waits for an opening. Plus he is very good at being stealthy which he would use to his advantage.

I doubt it was half a second, it wasn't very long....but it was more than half a second.
|
You're right. It was closer to a full second... they put 7 cuts in the tree... but you can see the blades flashing and there was closer to 15-20 cuts. I keep losing count at about 13 because they're flashing too fast.
|
I forgot to mention that Riddick gets two fairly large knives and a single energy gun, thats what he uses in the movie. Othewise we would have to strip Kenshin of his sword which would be a problem. Its no fair if we give one person his weapons and say the other can't have any.
Edit: He doesn't use guns often. Usually only ones he steals from people he is fighting, but he still uses them and quite well. |
Blades flash pretty fash, Krylo. It's the cuts which are impressive.
the weapons Sithdarth suggested sound fair to me. |
If Riddick has an energy gun, he wins. While Kenshin has avoided bullets, you can't avoid a laser.
If not, then I see Kenshin winning. I just want to comment on one thing krylo said though (Because he had it wrong). Kenshin beat the kid because he made him feel emotions, so he could read them and then easily beat the speed of the kid. |
Every flash of a blade is one swipe. They were fighting next to a tree... not every swipe is going to hit the tree. Around half, a little under, hit the tree. There were more actual slashes... and making 10 slashes in about a second is pretty impressive, as is dodging 10 slashes in about a second, regardless of whether they hit the tree.
Also: I'd leave Riddick without his gun. Guns almost always beat swords... Riddick, or anyone else who knows how to aim worth shit, could just pick up a gun and start blasting randomly toward Kenshin... and get lucky and hit Kenshin in a leg or a vital organ. Although Kenshin has parried and dodged bullets before... an energy gun would probably have faster rounds, I'd assume. Edit: Actually, the Kid eventually let him win, if you want to get picky. I was more talking about in the beginning when Kenshin was fighting him to a standstill before he was feeling emotions. |
For those that haven't seen the movie, the energy gun shot bolts of dark energy about half a foot wide and throw people about 10 to 15 feet when it hits directly. The pluse moves faster than a bullet, I'm pretty sure, but not as fast as light. I'm not exactly sure what those weapons were other than a movie mechanic but they were quite cool looking.
Edit: The firing rate is a little slower than a normal gun too. |
Yah, if he used the gun, he'd win. Just start shooting randomly, and get enough pulses of that size in an area, especially when moving faster than a bullet, only chance Kenshin would have would be to move faster than Riddick's arm until it ran out of ammo (if those things even DO run out of ammo) and not slow down at all.
Edit: If the firing rate is slower, he might still have a decent chance, but then it all comes down to luck. If he can avoid enough blasts to get close, by not being where the gun is aiming when Riddick pulls the trigger (like he did with the gatling gun) he might be able to get in close and hit him... otherwise Riddick hits him, and takes the win easily while he's knocked down. |
