New fight.

Strider Hiryu (Strider games) vs. Shinobi (PS2 Shinobi game)

Random thing, krylo, clicked the link in your signature. Intresting news.

I've never played the strider games or shinobi... and I'm starting to wonder if anyone else in this thread has, given the complete lack of replies to this fight.

Maybe we should do this: Trance Kuja vrs Duke Nukem (just to see if people will stick by the badass character even when the 'girly' one can destroy cities and take shots from things more powerful than anything the other guy has, without even bleeding).

Also: I wrote that news header myself. One of the perps of being admin... shameless self promotion.

Kuja is by far more powerful, and Duke is nowhere near as cool as Vader......Kuja wins, partly because he wasn't beaten by a punk kid with an unwieldy, oversized, butterknife.

Strider Hiryu, from Strider games. You've never played a Strider game? Go rent one and play it now.

He's also in Marvel vs. Capcom 1 and 2.

And yeah, Kuja wins easy.

Edit - How about Kuja vs. Vader (Just to see reactions, the answer is obvious).

depends on what weaponry/abilities hotsuma and strider are allowed to use.

Strider's got legions of mechanical animals, as well as ring lasers, ourobouros, and the ability to teleport, while hotsuma can stealth dash, fire shurikens, and use some pretty impressive ninjutsu. normally i'd say strider pwns all, but hotsuma's sword prevents strider from using his mech animals, and his ninjutsu is pretty impossible to counter.

add that to the fact that hotsuma has an incredibly powerful sword, and strider's reduced to teleporting away in the hopes that hotsuma's soul is eaten (which won't be easy for strider due to shurikens and the stealth dash)

Kuja loses to Vader, but it's a much closer match than Vader vs. Sephiroth.

[edit] 2000th post, do I get a prize now?:p

Yeah, Vader wins hands down on this one.

BMHadoken 06-14-2004 07:23 PM

No clue who Kuja is.

Strider wins, he has all of Shinobi's main moves (dashing, slashing) plus all the stuff that Lucas mentioned, and Shinobi's shurikens are pathetic.

And he can turn momentarily, invincible/super powerful (when he turns all orange).

Kuja was the main villian in FFIX. You know... he destroyed cities with waves of his hand, took Bahamut's attack full on, and it didn't even phase him when he wasn't near full power (He reached up to brush his hair back and noticed he was bleeding, then made a comment on Bahamut managing to hurt him). More of his powers, but also spoilers: He also controlled the flow of souls the world over, created black mages, organized wars across the world, destroyed the crystal that allowed existance to... exist (your team had to destroy the incarnation of the force of destruction in order to stop all of existance from being devoured) and... wore a tiny metal bikini.

Basically the point of the fight is that Kuja = God, but he's also a very very girly man. Vader is 'badass', but he's just some guy with the force. Jango Fett could have taken him down, given the right circumstances... Vader doesn't stand a chance.

Vader also doesn't stand much chance against Sephiroth, considering the beating Sephiroth is capable of taking and the amount of damage he's capable of dishing out, but the only arguement the 'Vader would win' squad kept falling back on is that Sephy was a pretty boy beaten by Cloud ("a punk kid with an unwieldy, oversized, butterknife").

In other words... the point of the fight was to see how far the 'but... but... but... the other guy is so... GIRLY!' arguement would be taken...

I say we need a new rule for these fights:

Unless the fight is specifically stated to be based on how 'cool' a character is, any points toward how 'girly', 'badass', or 'pathetic' a character is, without being in regards to their fighting abilities, should be ignored, and that, further, if a person mentions it in more than one post all their arguements in that discussion shall be ignored as that they have an irrational hatred for the character that is keeping them from looking at the fight objectively.

Shinobi's shurikens are pathetic.
they really aren't. they're hands down the most useful expendable item he gets.
