Page not loading after posting

It's been happening to me lately where after I click to post a reply, it will load forever and never finish. If I navigate away and come back to the forums, my post will be there just fine, but it just keeps loading after I hit reply until I make it leave the page. I'm not sure if this is a forum-issue or a my-computer issue*, or if other people have been having this problem, but I thought it was worth bringing up.

*EDIT: But I am assuming it's a forum-issue since I don't have this problem at the other forum I post at.

I've had this, but it's just a minor annoyance for me. Used to do that to me on Gaia occasionally, so I'm in the habit of clicking the post button a second time, letting it tell me it's too soon to make a duplicate post, and then having it forward me.

Meister 01-21-2009 02:33 AM

Me too, yo. Although I think it eventually did finish loading one or two of the maybe four times I had this happen. Not really sure.

There's little chance of accidental double posts anymore, with the double post check time being 5 minutes, so just open the forum/thread in another tab to see if it's there, or (as blue says) click the post reply button a second time to see if it spews out the double-post error message.

It's obnoxious, and yes it happens to me. I just open a new tab of the forum and see if my post is there and then close the old tab.

Bloody annoying, though.

I'm going to go ahead and blame... oh, let's say Meister.

STOP PLAYIN' WITH THE ADMIN CONTROLS IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW THEY WORK!

Gawd!

Satan's Onion 01-21-2009 05:18 AM

Yes, but should we attach a pair of high-powered magnets to our computers to fix it?

Krylo 01-21-2009 05:45 AM

Well, the magnetic fields may realign the electric data currents into a more cohesive form allowing faster loading after posting a thread.

Satan's Onion 01-21-2009 06:23 AM

So you're saying they reverse the polarity of the neutron flow?

Krylo 01-21-2009 06:31 AM

And increase the emergence of tachyon particles.

Mirai Gen 01-21-2009 07:47 AM

But what if some of us have had our intrinsic field removed?

Yeah, this happens to me too. Usually I just jump to the index after it starts loading with no problem.
