Ragnarok: Chapter 4
(OOC: lots of NPC action here...)
"We have been sent to you with a solution on how to release you from the Talatsu's curse..." The mysterious figure said to the evil knight, Skurai, "To guide you to the place where many of powerful blood are gathered... Surely one of them will satisfy Talatsu's bloodlust..." ------------------------------------ "Where the heck are you dragging me to?" Lidia complained, not fond of walking too much, carrying a load of the adventurer's luggage. Lidia turned to Iris, supposedly the ringleader of the group at the moment, and pointed an accusing finger at her, "You said it was just a little farther, but it feels like we've been walking forever!" Iris kept her cool as well as she could. Lidia had been complaining a lot as they travelled farther, and frankly, the theif was getting on her nerves, "I told you we're almost there! If you're going to be coming along with us, you have to be patient." Lidia groaned, wishing she had stayed home, "Oh, a delicate city girl like me can't survive out here. It's impossible for me to keep with with a country bumpkin like you who's built like a boy!" Before Iris could vent her growing rage on Lidia, one of the other group members spoke up, "We're here." Lidia turned, in awe of the massive city that was Fayon. A city carved out of the side of a mountain, an impressive sight to any who have not seen Fayon before... ------------------------------------------ Fenris stood on a cliff, overlooking the city of Fayon from a distance, "The path ended here... the city of Fayon.... Balder's Chosen are here!" She said victoriously as she started to decend the cliff. A flash of white caught her eye, <Talismans? What are they doing here?> She wondered, then her face darkened as she realized what it was, <That's right, the Valkyrie! She's trying to find my location!> She thought frantically as she reached over and destroyed the talismans as quickly as she could, praying that she had destroyed them in time. <If she knows where I am... then that means I don't have much time to find Balder's Chosen!> ----------------------------------- A piece of talisman fluttered along the wind... it didn't stop in it's path until it brushed against the hand of Sara Irine. "She destroyed my precious Talismans... but..." She said, throwing the piece to the side, "You were too late, Fenris Fenrir." She said to herself, grinning darkly, "I know that city like the back of my hand! I was born there you know...." She continued, her eyes growing darker. "In Fayon, the City of Murderers!" OOC: When you think of Fayon, think of that one city in Lord of the Rings that was on the foot of a mountain, carved out of mountain... I forget it's name. (I wish I could remember the name of that city.) |
ooc-Heheh. I'm alive as well. Truce'll...be in the background, like that cat from Trigun!
As soon as dawn arrived Truce had gotten dressed and had left the inn. Always constantly on the move, he could not bring himself to stay in one place for too long...and he definately didn't want to be wherever that dark knight was. Choosing his path as he always did, which was a version of "Spin the Bottle", he immediately set off in the chosen direction. Eventually he had come across the city of Fayon, and though he got an unsettling feeling from it, as if something soon was going to happen that would eventually lead him into trouble, he decided to explore it. He always got into trouble anyway, and he knew no reason not to go into Fayon, yet. Of course, it should be noted that he had always failed any geography and history tests Redael had given him, meaning that he had absolutely no knowledge of the city. |
Darilk's cold eyes moved over the city of Fayon, but he was unimpressed. He wasn't impressed the first time he had seen the city, either. It wasn't in his character to be impressed by such things, although he understood that he should be impressed. It was an impressive sight, after all, but he was cold and numb, and it didn't concern him beyond the fact that he would be done with his contract soon.
The young thief's voice then caught his attention, complaining as she had been for most of the trip. Darilk walked over to her and lifted away the heavier portions of the luggage easily. "Do not complain about your hardships. It is dishonourable, learn to draw strength from them," he echoed one of his long ago teachers. His teacher's voice had been warm when he told Darilk, but then, his teacher had been a paladin and Darilk was the antithesis of that. As such, Darilk's voice was cold and expressionless as always. |
Unlike everyone else, Sang saw no reason to force the one girl to carry everything, he so volunteered and carried some of the things she was carrying for her earlier from the begining.
Then he heard Lidia whine more, and then Darilk yell at her. "Were you not hugged enough as a child or something?" Sang asked Darilk after getting to know him for a long walk. (Reposted) "And maybe if you had helped carry some things from the begining, she wouldn't complain as much." |
Darilk chose to ignore Sang's question about his childhood. Answering it had always lead people to mistakingly believing that Darilk was in pain, or that he wished for their pity. As that neither was the case, he had stopped answering any questions that had to do with his youth. Besides, it was most likely rhetorical, and not worthy of a response.
The odd man's second statement, however, was worthy of a response, if not Darilk's attention, and so he said, "It was her punishment for thievery. Such actions must not go without consequence," in the same cold voice he always used, without bothering to look back at Sang. |
"Why are we going to Fayon again?" Meth asked innocently. He coudn't remember why he was going this way. This often led to confusion which caused him to forget more things. He found himself remembering less and less recently. It's a good thing he writes the important things down. He looked over at Lydia. "Who are you?"
|
Vace had decided for reasons even he didn't know to stick with this group. Safety in numbers perhaps, or people that knew the lay of the land. Either way he had followed along, staying mute to the whining of the thief. However when they reached the city of Fayon, he let out a low whistle and said, "Well, I've seen a lot in my time, but I'll admit, this is an impressive city..."
OOC: I think the LOTR city you're thinking of is Minus Tirith. |
OOC: Chapter 4 already?! Man, I am way too slow.
Akira gazed up at the sky longingly. Why am I here? Why do I exist? Why is fate against me? He continued to stare skyward, as if he expected the clouds to answer him. Fate had drawn him here, to the city of Fayon. He didn't know why, he didn't know how. It didn't matter now. All that mattered was that he was here. If fate did not wish for him to be here, he wouldn't he would probably be at home. With money. Money, he shuddered at the word. He dispised it. Was that all that separated higher and lower people? Money? Akira turned his attention from the skies and to his surroundings. He was standing in front of the largest city he had ever seen. One of the only ones, for that matter. A couple of people were nearby him as well. He recognized them as the people who slayed the mother face-worm, but they would not recognize him. It seems fate has plans for them, too. |
(OOC: Yeah, that's it. Minas Tirith.)
Lidia grinned as Sang defended her, "Yeah. See? He knows how to be a gentleman." She then turned to the old man and began to answer him, but Iris cut her off. "We are going to Fayon, because it's my home." She said, happily forgetting about Lidia for the moment, "And my father Lord Irine is going to throw a large banquet in my honor, since my eighteenth birthday is tomorrow." She smiled gleefully, then she frowned as she answered the second part of Meth's question, "And SHE," gesturing to Lidia, "Is a conniving little shrew who thinks she could get away after trying to steal our bounty..." "Now that's not entirely true..." Lidia started, then trailed off, it was a hopeless cause with these people. She could only hope that Fayon was full of people with "donations" for Lidia's cause... Getting giddy with the thought, she walked forward, not complaining anymore, "Well, are we just going to stand here staring at the entrance or are we gonna go in!" |
<I do not like to see the theif exited...> Dezil mused to himself, but he said, "Well, we are right here, I am all for going on. This must be an incredible city to be raised in, I have rarely seen any so large, although I've seen a few that might rival this one."
