NationStates.net: Build a digital Country
Here's an interesting site, or at least a site some of you would be interested in, or at least deserves a bit of notice, or something:
http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi Use your own political philosophies to build a hypothetical government, and see how well it goes. The site's a lot bigger than I expected (hundreds of thousands of countries now). I just made mine! The Confederacy of Little Rods and Cones! If I get tired of it, I'll make a Socialist Republic next probably. |
hey cool. been meaning to drop that link for a while. i had to start a nation as apart of a school project, and have really gotten into it. My country, the Principality of Banangladesh, has recently regained it's political freedoms after spending a few months as a corrupt dictatorship.
http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/...n=banangladesh the system is kind of biased twoards democracies, and alot of the results have effects that are completely absurd, but thats just apart of the charm. |
Absurdity can be part of politics, as lots of us have seen!
this is interesting! My own little country, the Allied states of the Northern Northernlands, have a new beginning! I'm gonna be the next sweden! Whoo! http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/...hern_northland |
I used to have two... one was a 'Father Knows Best State' and one was a totalitarian dictatorship in which they ate people. (I made the national animal homosapiens, then when the issue for eating the national animal came up, I ok'd it.)
It gets kinda boring after awhile, though. There's only so many issues, and after you've been through them all once or twice, it's not all that fun anymore. |

Somehow, IHMN, the idea of you being a psychotic dictator doesn't seem all that far-fetched to me.

I like this quote on my main page.

Yeah, I played that back when it originally got linked on these forums... oh... heck, awhile ago. There were only something like 30 issues at the time, though, so it got old fairly quickly. Started playing again a few months ago. They started taking user-submitted issues, so now they're at about 120 and growing, I believe. Anyhow: The Enlightened Empire of Santin.
Admittedly, this thread seems a bit iffy for Discussion. |
So your country must have a well-functioning slave trade, then.
