Possibly, but I'm not sure if it would matter in the long run. The longer he holds on, the more time he gives us to smack him upside the head and say, "WTF are you doing?", and if he does a quick grab, he doesn't hold the power for long. As for taking the powers, I was pretty unoriginal and literally am just using an old character, so I don't care to a degree, but if he does it in the RP he might still get smacked around because it would annoy and freak out Vace, although he wouldn't do anything drastic.

And it wouldn't set up that big a precedent. IHMN already tends to play Kleptomaniacs in RPs (Don't deny it, in multiple RPs you play the guy that steals (Or tries to) everything everyone is carrying, and let's not forget UO and your Thief there...), so this is just an evolution into Skill Thief, although not a super effective one. He gains no long term uses from what he does, and there is plenty of opportunity for group backlash if he starts doing it all over the place and pissing off everyone. His character asking would have been better, but it could also be explained IC as a "Desperate times call for desperate measures" moment, and he made an executive decision not everyone would like and that could come back to bite him.

In other words, was it ideal? No. Was it out of character? Not entirely. His action wasn't good, but dropping a cow on him and effectivly killing him is worse and a GM decision, while his action is a character decision, even if it was a bad one. Sometimes the good guys have to ally with the thieves and the rouges to get the job done...

I still fail to see why Sang's power is even considered stealing.

Sure, he didn't ask (Though OOC Jad was given a chance to say no, a subtle one, but still it was there), but that is a minor point in stealing. The main point of stealing is to take something away from the other person, not the asking part.

IHMN: You've compared your character to 'X-Men' heroine Rogue a number of times. Let's use that. If I recall correctly, she gained her real superpowers (flight, strentgh etc) by holding on too long to another superwoman. In the end, Rogue literally stole her mind, and it emerged later that her body was a Jane Doe coma patient at a hospital, and the woman's psyche was trapped within Rogue. This actually happened a number of times, although the others never went into permacomas, and the psyches only emerged under great duress or psionic probing.

Actually, I've mentioned that my guy would go insane before his target. And his power is a copy and paste, he doesn't take anything from the target, just copies it and paste it in himself.

And yet, they feel weak and/or fall asleep, while Sang is still conscious. That suggests a transfer of power from the target to Sang.

Edit: I need to finish my English paper, and get some sleep. Don't kill me while I'm gone!

Meh, that is just something I made up so he could use it for sneaking into places (Grab guy, they eventually fall asleep, he looks like him).

And it took 10 seconds for Dante's guy to get half asleep (Though he did just go to sleep since he left for some country that day). So logically, 20 seconds to make them just go to sleep (Which would be hard to do).

I have to go (I'm sorry I'm not online as much as I should be, I would have been online longer if I didn't have to seek shelter in the mall for a few hours....) But tomorrow, I'll post a basic picture of the layout of the bridge.

Man... I feel bad leaving after only making one post... I spent too long worrying about this... I'm sorry. I'll make another RP post before I go to bed.

...What was up with the group teleport? It just mentioned teleporting group members, not where to or anything like that. Did it hit everybody? And if so, where are we now?

Squishy Cheeks 04-20-2004 11:53 PM

It just teleported the people in Meth's immediate vicinity, I.E. the NPCs and any PC next to Iris. and where it went is up to celes.

It also teleported those who aren't here to post, so that we know where they are. Don't worry. And right now, you are on the Fayon side of the bridge.
