Superbowl Movie spots, before the Superbowl!

Transformers 2:Revenge of the Fallen
GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra
Star Trek
Fast & Furious 4

Watch 'em quick before they get pulled. Well except for F&F 4. I doubt YouTube will even bother with that one.

Am I the only one deeply disturbed by that Star Trek trailer?
It looks nothing like star trek at all.

Meh. I've always found Star Trek movies mostly lacking in drama & entertainment. Admittedly, this seems that it might be going too much into the other extreme.

Of course, most trailers tend to condense the action shots these days, and not present too much of the story building bits.

It could be good, or it could give a black hole a lesson in sucking. I'll wait & see.

- Personally, I love the fact that The Doctor is Destro. Too bad about no metal mask, but I guess I can't entirely blame them.

Well this may be my fault, I've never actually watched a Star Trek movie....
I've seen plenty of the series and was mostly basing judgement off that.

Meister 02-01-2009 07:59 AM

No version of Star Trek I've ever seen was anything like that. It's definitely way off.

Course, so were the concepts of having a new Star Trek series set on a space station, or of having one with a new crew a century later, or of having a TV show set on a spaceship in the future.

Magus 02-02-2009 12:13 AM

Like I said before, the new Star Trek looks just like a Michael Bay movie. Hopefully Abrams just has them putting all the action shots into one trailer or something. I always found Star Trek fairly dry and somewhat dull but that's what made it Star Trek. Changing it in such an extreme way just seems to be off putting.

G.I. Joe looks okay maybe perhaps. I hope Revenge of the Fallen is better than the first Transformers movie.

Aerozord 02-02-2009 12:44 AM

GI Joe is oddly enough the only one I have hope for. Because the only way I could see it being done, seems like they are doing it. GI Joe was about as series as a show with a 6-12 demographic could get. You'd have to play it straight. Which is the codenames alone make next to impossible

Mirai Gen 02-02-2009 02:25 AM

I am excited for both completely obvious movies that only Mirai would get extremely excited about.

Cue nobody being surprised.

Also on GI Joe: I see it as the most senselessly, logic-absent, over-the-top action movie they can possibly do. I'm totally cool with that.

Regulus Tera 02-02-2009 03:44 AM

Wait a minute, the Ninth Doctor is Commander Cobra?!

Ah, he's just a random official. Oh well, still gonna watch it for Eccleston alone.

Sky Warrior Bob 02-02-2009 06:21 AM

No, The Doctor is Destro. At least according to this.

And as I said before, it looks like they're dropping the whole metal head thing, but can't entirely blame them for that.

Oh and this seems somewhat on topic.

Somewhat.
