Best Weapon ever.

I made a worst weapon ever thread. now it is time to find the best weapon ideas out there.

My vote is for the Gunblade.

For those of you who dont know how it works, here we go.
The Gunblade is basicly a long barrled hand gun (a revolver in this case) with a blade built around it. This allows the wielder to slash and create a wound with it. In the same motion, the wielder pulls the trigger fireing a bullet into the wound and the result is more damage than either a sword or gun could do alone.

The best weapon that you people could actually have is a two foot peice of rubber hose, filled with copper wire and taped at both ends. You'll be taking off skin a breaking bones in no time.

Gunblade = Bad.

Not only is the gun handle ruining the blade part of the gun blade, but any dents or slight bends in the sword (Which are likely to happen if you use it as a sword) will ruin the gun part.

Best weapon, any sort of modern gun.

What he said about the gunblade. I was in the process of replying.

But the most versatile weapon is the sword. No it won't stand up to a gun, but it doesn't need ammo or misfire, its easy to use and efficient, plus it comes in thousands of varieties!

And the katana is one of the best swords ever. it is a masterpiece.

Illuminatus 04-19-2004 09:17 PM

A common misconception is that Katanas were ALWAYS better than other swords. In general, Katana's had more care put into them, but often European swords were just as well crafted and swords made with Damascus steel are considered to be of better quality than Katanas. Not that Katanas aren't completely badass anyway.

I was going more on design than care. The katana is like a guillotine on a hilt. it has extreme cutting power. Well crafted European swords were good also, but they were made for more large scale wars.

I agree about the katana, and i think that the sword is the greatest weapon type ever invented. Sure, you can't hit someone whoa great distance away, but a baby can shoot a gun and kill someone. A sword requires knowledge to use, (well, except in Fighter's case, but you get the point)not just point and pull the trigger. Also, the sword is much more distinguished than other weapons, and is the most commonly displayed. The most challenging part of using a sword is you must kill face-to-face, unlike the gun, which may be the hardest part of using a sword.

A baby could kill with a sword. Giv ethe baby a sword, it drops it, the blade lands on some guys head and he dies.

What is so complicated with "Hold and swing?"

Magic E-Mail Chicken 04-19-2004 09:31 PM

This might have been better as a swords VS guns thread. whatever.
Swords and every other close range weapon require strength, dexterity, experiance, endurance, and other things to be used well. guns require aim..... and thats about it.
I think guns put too much power in the hands of whoever has one. And it is hard to run away from a gun. The only long range weapons i consider as long range but not a form of firearm are thrown weapons like shurikens.
