Okay, fuck this, I'm out.

Huh? According to the artical it might be pretty good. Unless your mad because it isn't DMC.

I'm mad because they took something as creative and original as Dead Space and they follow up with - blatantly! - making Devil May Cry.

It's just like Penny Arcade is all, "Oh man, Dante's Inferno? What could they do?" and they mocked it up to look totally like Devil May Cry hardcore stylish action game, and fuck, that's exactly what they did!

It seems more like they're making God of War. They aren't taking Hell and demons and shit from DMC, they're taking it from the same source, Judeo-Christian mythos and The Divine Comedy. They are however, taking the control scheme and such from GoW.

Oh okay I understand now. Meh I'm use to game companies copying gameplay machanics of there (or another company's) other successful games. It happens almost all of the time.

So they're taking the exact same setting that the DMC series uses and then using the same control scheme that GoW uses, which was inspired by the DMC series. And this is totally NOT copying DMC.

That's like saying that quite a few fantasy novels take the same setting as Tolkien's LotR, and then add in all of Tolkien's flavor into the novels, but they're NOT copying Tolkien.

More like taking influence from early Germanic Literature, and then flavor from fantasy influenced by Tolkien, and effectively creating something seemingly copied from Tolkien.

But yah, seems a lot like DMC.

Wasn't the subtitle of DMC 2 "Dante's Inferno"? I remember seeing that once, but I'm not sure.

But anyway yeah ripoff etc rage.

Oh note that I'm not at all saying anyone's ripping off anyone. Imitation in gaming industry is pretty much a standard.

Its just that of all the products I figured the Dead Space team would go to, this was seriously way, way, way down on that list.
