What would dissolving all the electrons in a solid body of matter LOOK like?
In reference to http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=061109
I'm trying to think of a visual effect here, but I suspect we may need Sithdarth. |

Or maybe this (bottom center).

Well, first of all you can't actually dissolve electrons. You could anhilate them with positrons, but that would probably make a mess anyway. If however you were to somehow remove all the electrons from a body of solid matter, then I'd imagine the body in question would simply liquify, seeing as electrons account for chemical bonding in atoms and without them there would be no structure to anything.
Some of the chemicals that make up the human body might just turn to gas as well. |
You would in fact destroy every single atom and be left with a bunch of protons and neutrons. I'm not sure if that would be any kind of discernible matter anymore.

The protons would repel violently, and you'd end up with what amounts to a nuclear explosion, is what would happen.
|
That would depend on how suddenly the electrons were removed.

However, all the atoms would immediately repel each other. Ergo, the body wouldn't get a chance to liquify. Each individual positive ion would shoot apart, thus isolating each individual atom pretty far away from each other, thus making it impossible to even remake the entire being.
There would probably also be a hell of a lot of force behind each atom, so it could very well damage nearby objects. Basically, the person would more or less vanish as every single atom in their body rapidly tried to get away from each other. It wouldn't even be akin to the explosion shown in the picture above as none of the atoms would stick together enough to even make something that looks like goo from a human. |
Could they reappear several weeks later as an omnipotent, naked, blue man?
