Incidentally as we've hit one of the periodic gaps between OOTS updates....
The best part is that I noticed this update right after Fifth closed the thread.

Hehe, banana muffins...

I like the Hobbit reference.

BitVyper 02-11-2009 10:33 PM

Really though; it's a black dragon. A banana muffin would probably be enough.

It would need to be a +5 Vorpal Muffin wielded by a 20th-level Baker, it's ancient and has class levels.

I have to say, I'm utterly shocked that this page actually has to do with V and the imp. I was certain we'd get cliffhanger'd.

Aerozord 02-11-2009 11:33 PM

we still might get the cliffhanger, if we do it will be just as they enact their plan, but before we see the dragon again.

It was quite hilarious though.

Server issues prevent me reading it as of now. An occurance that is happening more and more regularly :(

Edit: Now read, I totally had a professional baker ina campaign once. He started out as an Expert before we devised a baking prestige class allowing him to cook all manner of dangerous treats. It was awesome.

So I guess "Imp wants to tempt V, but lacks the wherewithal to offer a reasonable temptation" is going to be a running gag. My guess is that when Belkar bites it, the imp will replace his role in the Belkar and V comedy duo.

The Wizard Who Did It 02-12-2009 12:23 AM

Honestly, I was excited to see what this comic would be about. And then I read the first panel, and it seemed blunt and not well written, and I despaired.

Then the rest of the comic hit me, and it was a nice refreshing dose of humor, while carefully trying to show that V's not just gonna become corrupted unless the imp actually becomes useful. Basically, there's even more dramatic tension.

I mean, one of the things that's going through my mind is, how good is "greater teleportation"? In my mind, I imagine it would be able to put the dragon on top of the children. From the way I see it, it may already be too late...

Basically, my lack of knowledge of the system makes this a very suspenseful time to me.

Well, in 3.5 D&D, there is no range limit, you never end up off target, and you don't even need to have been there. But, you know, Rich got tired of playing by D&D rules as written, so who knows.
