Was Mega Man always this hard?

Ok so I got Mega Man 9, and, it took me forever to beat one robot master. I'm still working on the second. It wouldn't be so bad if not for all the instant death spikes and pitfalls. I remember taking games like this in a weekend

Yes, yes it was. Hell, I eventually beat MM9 on Super Hero mode. Just took for-goddamn-ever.

Before anything, what are your memories of previous Mega Men?

Lost in Time 02-12-2009 11:37 PM

I think Mega Man 9 is just slightly harder than the NES ones. Because I'm working on the second Robot Master, and on the other NES games I could at least take down 5 or 6. The X series I could beat simply enough though.

Mega Man X owns...

Mirai Gen 02-13-2009 01:21 AM

Agreed.

Also maybe it's just me but MM9 doesn't seem that hard? I mean like yeah it's Mega Man hard, but not like...Batman or Battletoads hard.

Jagos 02-13-2009 01:33 AM

Batman had a good game?

Aerozord 02-13-2009 01:47 AM

well I will say this, the level of hand-eye coordination of old school games puts modern ones to shame.

I have to jump up, and hit a moving target in mid-air all in less then a second. Oh and did I mention your bullet has travel time to worry about, yea it takes a moment to get there.

Just one. And it was the NES' grand champion of hard mother fuckers.

Having played MM1, 2, and 9 as they came out on Wii, yeah it was. I have to say that MM9 is difficult in fun ways, as opposed to some parts of MM1 which were goddamn bullshit. (THE CLONE ARGH)
