I'd say it's more like upgrading to the Game Boy Pocket from the Brick, only the Game Boy Camera doesn't have backwards compatibility (yes, I have one of those things).

No, see, the DS Lite was the Game Boy Pocket, since there was no specific GBP software that was exclusive to it. The Game Boy Color had games that were only playable on it, just like some DSi games will be incompatible with the original DS.

Anyway, Australia gets it on April 2nd ($299 AUD ouch) while Europe gets it on April 3rd (�149.99 in the UK).

*sigh* Fine Nintendo I'll get the damn thing GAWD!!! *starts saving up for the black DSi*

The DSi has its own slot right? Why exactly? Couldn't they just make things work with the DS's one?

I'm expecting it to be more like games working on the DS just fine, but you have to use the camera at some point and then you get stuck.

Edit: Upon further reading: It can play "most" of the DS games? As in, 850 of them? I'd like to mention the DS' game library is past the 3000 mark including Japanese games. So ouch.
