Project_RINGO
Goddammit, Sega.
So, early in February, Sega put up a site for Project_RINGO. All it had was the Sega logo and an outline of some kind of cartoony girl character who's head is shaped like an apple, and she was juggling one, too. They promised more news on February 24th. February 24th rolls around... Another teaser, this one with a bunch of math stuff that all equals 247, whatever that means. Promised more news on the 12th of March. Well, that's today, and as you already saw... another teaser with more news on the 24th. This advertising scheme is needlessly frustrating. However, since we know so little about the game, I figured it might be fun to make wild assumptions on what it is. I have two ideas... 1. A 2D platformer about a telekinetic girl who uses her powers to shoot enemies with apples. And she's also a teacher. 2. A learning game for the DS. Anyone else? |
Five bucks says she's a chick that falls in love with Sonic in another goddamn Sonic game. At least we'll get some hot Skitty and Wailord action.
|
Sorry, the only thing that keeps coming to my head is Ringo Starr.
|
Pretty sure "ringo" is "apple" in Japanese, I think. Hence the apple motif NonCon mentioned. (Finally, my meager store of Beatles trivia comes in useful.)
|
I may be interested in this, because Valkria Chronicles has taught me that Sega can make a good game as long as Sonic Team isn't involved.
|
Well... there is a clear connection there with School, Teacher and Math...
So... my Guess will be... well, im betting 10 Cookies that it's a DS Platformer with Sudoku Puzzles. Who wants in on the action? C'mon People!!! |
I'll take that bet and raise you 20.
It's a sim game with action RPG elements. |
Next teaser came out! Shows the main character, a girl with red hair, ponytails, and an ahoge, tossing an apple. Then it shows something on the board, it was the square root of some ridiculously large number, which turns out to equal 24247. Then a computer screen lights up and it says, "Thank you for waiting! 4.3 on this website and weekly Famitsu!"
Fuck you, Sega. |

Its a stealth/sneaking game about a girl that busts into people's houses to sabotage their homework with her telekinetic powers. She's doing it because of how elitist Japanese schools are. And for lulz. |
A mild-mannered math teacher by day, at night she turns into a man (this is a Japanese game, remember) named Elliot "The Mathman" Jones. Her/his archenemies are the Mathletes, a group of terrorists attempting to maintain the secrets of Pythagorean theorem through assassination, much like in the good old days. However, since everyone in the world is now aware of the theories, they are trying to destroy the entire human race to maintain the "secret". Can The Mathman stop them? You'll have to buy this edutainment game to find out.
