It falls very much into a philisophical idea of how much you can forgive based on what you were put through. Considering it was still all comletely of her own free will mine is simply. She might have good reason for growing up to become an arogant religious psycho, that doesn't change the fact she is an arogant religious psycho. It isn't even the moral event horizon arguement, its her own ego and short sightedness that lead her down that path. If she was just able to comprihend the possibility she was wrong she would be better liked by others and not have died like she did.
I am not saying it was dumb to make her a character, she was needed in the story and I disagree with the belief everyone has to be redeemable, some people are just jerks. She is one of them. She was an arogant prick, a bully, I'd say she got what she deserved if it didn't screw everything up. Yes she tried to do the right thing, but it was her own fault she kept doing the wrong thing. |

Then again, the most recent strip seems to suggest Belkar and V going in an entirely different (possibly friendlier and more civilized) direction. |
I hope that's what he's setting up for anyway.
I'd have a hard time believing him doing anything else. |

Roy's been dead for how long now?
It's gonna be weird for him being up and around interacting with actual people again. |
Hmm... So what part of "I have to fix everything" has yet to be fulfilled now? I mean there's Roy obviously, but I wonder just how much longer V needs to keep the power.
|
Well, he can't even fix Roy. That's Durkon's job. Which means there was absolutely no benefit to keeping the powers this long, unless you count rejoining the group. The only people he helped were people he didn't care about and just wanted to shut up.

Now for the karma backlash to bite him in the ass...
|
That's the best part; now there is absolutely nothing he needs to do with the soul splice. The entire OOTS cast is rejoined, minus Roy for the moment. The only thing he really might NEED to do is get them all back to Hinjo's ship, but even still everything that can be solved in a day is solved.
Speaking of which; now that the OOTS is rejoined at last, what the hell are they gonna do? There's like five things that need to get handled, I wonder what's first. EDIT: The only person who didn't go through some kind of change since strip #1 is Durkon; right now, it shows. |
Probably rez Roy, kill V, kill Belkar, kill the villain whose name I've forgotten since it's been so long since I've seen him, and then pose like a team because Stick just got real.* In that order.
*Even I felt bad for that one. I am curious as to what sort of characterization Durkon will go through, as I can't see him not getting any, but I guess I just don't know enough about his character to really imagine what what could/will be done to give him more depth. |
