Watchmen Soundtrack

Now, Watchmen is really fun - you might like the comic more in parts or the movie in others - but you can't doubt the music. The music is amazing, especially in the opening credits. Sure it doesn't jive with the flick, but there's something wrong with not liking some Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Jimmi Hendrix, Smashing Pumpkins, Phillip Glass, Nina Simone and Simon and Garfunkle.

I, and my two friends, agree, but it doesn't seem to be the popular sentiment.

Also, you forgot KC and the Sunshine Band. "I'm your Boogie Man, I'm a your Boogie Man"

I also forgot Nat King Cole.

The choice of Dylan's "The Times They Are A-Changin'" for the opening credits really helped set the tone of the movie in a way that isn't seen often in other pictures. It was an amazing choice.

Good Lord are you serious?

Two days ban as per Fenris' decree I mean come on you're not even trying here. I'm changing that title, too, in the interest of not giving myself an aneurysm.

*agrees with this*

The rest of the movie probably would've been better off without a soundtrack (all of it was good music, it just felt really out-of-place), but holyfuck that song choice was a good one.

Seems great except for that godawful MCR song. Just a list of great songs. (Even that song is great, when done by Dylan instead of MCR)

I think my favorite song in the whole movie is the one that played while Manhattan was reminiscing on Mars.

Pruit Igoe by Philip Glass. Im one of the few people it seems who enjoyed the use of music in Watchmen, but of that soundtrack, the Glass music was some of the best utilized.

Just saw the movie. Agree that during a lot of moments the music seemed out of place or very blunt.
