Holy fuck Spectacular Spider-Man is good

Like actually really really good.

Like all the ways that a Spider-Man thing these days would be not-good, this is actually totally good.

So I thought we could talk about that, you know, if you feel like it. I mean I don't want to push it. If you're not in the mood then you know, we could put it off for another time. No really! I'd rather cuddle instead.

If only there was some way for a dude who doesn't have cable to watch this show, I could watch it and talk about it.

But alas.

If only there was a totally cool thing that could get you free tv shows and movies. If only.

Pm me.

Also yeah SSM is essentially spider man without super angst or dumbass editors. Which as we all know is awesome.

Well... if you insist, come here then big guy!
Gimme a big hug!

Honestly... I'm put off by the style of the drawings.
Does the quality of the show really make up for it?

Can't watch it on TV, because it'll take a few years to get subbed and whatnot. IF they actually sub it, and not go to dubbing instead. And I'd watch it online (Completely legal. No, seriously. C'mon, trust me man!), but honestly? I'd forget all about it in a second.

It totally does. First off in terms of characterization and storytelling and secondly because while the art style is a bit more simplified / 'cartoony' than some people might like the animation is really beautifully fluid especially in the fight sequences which are just amazingly fast-paced and action-packed.

You and everyone else on the internet. Seriously, what do people find so off putting about the style?

It doesn't really have to make up for anything(Okay, maybe the current abysmal state of the comics proper) but by gum this is one awesome show! I'm serious, this is going to be the Spidey-toon by which all others will be measured against. Which kind of makes me really sad seeing as how Sony may not be picking up for a third season.

Wow, really? Good lord.

I don't even think I can be surprised, this show is much too self-evidently good to find any purchase in the shit-swamp that is the imagination of your average TV executive.

The Sony fucksticks probably watch it going like "But why isn't he crying more? And getting his mask yanked off!And he keeps fighting the villains and then coming up with clever ways to defeat him, when he should get the shit kicked out of him for 20 minutes and then the bad guy gets a Deus Ex dropped on his head! And why isn't he CRYING MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!!!!!"

Well, might check some more out then.
Maybe this time I can keep an interest in something I'm watching online...

Really? I like this stylized look. I even found the guy who did the character design's deviantART gallery. I enjoy the style.

I find this show on par with the old 90's cartoon, and for me thats saying alot. That show is the whole reason I even give a crap about Spider Man today. Reminds me alot of Transformers Animated, yea the art isn't what we are used to but the show is as freakin awesome as the old one we loved so if thats the only reason you aren't watching you are a very shallow individual.
