Gorgeous Punch-Out!! trailer is gorgeous

So much gorgeous.

Yootoob'd for your convenience!

I'm looking forward to this game, though Mike Tyson will be sorely missed.

Ok, so the Wii has MadWorld, No More Heroes, and now Punchout...

There goes my next paycheck.

Mirai Gen 03-23-2009 07:48 PM

I am teeming with barely-restrained glee at the prospect of this game, being the first Wii game I've bought since Brawl (Shut up I haven't gotten Mad World or NMH yet), and I also hope the new content is just as awesome as the old content.

Totally buying.

Sadly, only buying once, but doing it as hard as I can.

Wow, look at Lil' Mac with his new do! Looks like it's shaping up to be a wonderful remake.

The 8-Bit sound effects when punching will be missed though.

Edit: Theatrically topical!

Don't you guys know that Punch-Out!! is racist?

"But racist hate groups that sneak out a few computer games to spread their bile are fairly easily to isolate. The Capcom, Sonys, Microsoft Games, Activision, Nintendo, and Midway are a different matter. They have all been called on the carpet in recent years for churning out such racially offensive video games as Spanish for Everyone, Super Punch Out, Kung Fu Chaos, Freaky Flyers and Hommie Hollerz. But they are big, rich, and industry respected, and they have a legion of PR, media and industry shills to blow off the scattered voices who protest their racially offensive games."

You might think Punch-Out!! is just harmless fun, but it's really just racially offensive. Also of apparently horribly low quality since it got stuck in there with all those other terrible games like Homie Rollerz and Spanish For Everyone. Who knew?

EDIT: Thanks, Gen. Link fixed.

What's ironic is that Street Fighter and Punch Out were genuinely racist like a hojillion years before Resident Evil 5 but nobody seems to care.

Anyway just stopping by to say your link is broken.

And Popinski ain't drinking soda.

Mirai Gen 03-23-2009 10:16 PM

He drinks that (ahem) soda straight from the bottle between matches.

Soda Popenski is hardcore.

Punch-Out Wii supports the Wii Balance Board, an official press release from Nintendo has confirmed today - as does its official game page. It's in Italian, but we've had it reliably translated (no Google!) - thanks Lucy! - and it does confirm the Wii Balance Board's use.

Like Don King Boxing, players will be able to use the Wii Balance Board in conjunction with the Wii Remote and Nunchuck to throw punches and dodge and weave at the same time.

Punch-Out Wii is released in Europe on May 22nd.
Yes, the game also supports Wiimote NES-style before any of you starts throwing a bitch about waggling.
