Hideo Kojima hints at next Metal Gear game
 

The clip is basically some insight into his job as a game designer, but he teases a bit about the next title in the series towards the end of the video (3:30):


Could Metal Gear Raiden be in the works?

In before someone posts the MGS3:Subsistence video.

... For gods' sake Kojima, let it GO!

You did enough MGS for a lifetime. Bring back Snatcher, get a NEW game coming out. But step away from the Metal Gear.

It seems like Kojima want's to explore a new series on the Metal Gear Unniverse using the current Western Trends... which makes sense. The Metal Gear Series was always more inclined towards the western world than the eastern. Taking new trends and learning new skills from that other Style could help develop some really novel ideas.

On the other hand, it could be like having the guy who writes Naruto writing a canon mini-series for Batman, or having the X-men writing guys scripting the next Bleach Vs One-Piece movie... it could go either good or bad.

Since Metal Gear is Kojima's final fantasy, it's great to see that he wants to make new things out of it instead of just milking the cow. And Raiden could actually generate a good Stealth action game if done right...

Guessing it'll be MGS4: Subsistance or maybe another spin-off on the PSP.

The next Metal Gear Solid game will be his last, just like all of them.

And once again, hopes for Zone of the Enders 3 are smashed mercilessly under the heel of yet another Metal Gear game.

Sigh.

Just to pick nits, Shikimaru's pretty much Batman without the spandex and being incredibly lazy.

....I still want them to meet one day and bring about the heat-death of the universe.

Kojima really needs somebody else to do Metal Gear, seriously.

Pfft. Who can? His name's all over every last one as well as ZoE.

I wonder if he's given up on going back to his other works and just decided to do the games he really wants to do but branding them as Metal Gear games yet? Someday he'll figure that out, surely.

I was always under the impression that he wanted to leave the MGS franchise, but couldn't really due to the story not being over. Hurm.
