I want to join, but as a quasi-NPC. Say, an armorer or somesuch. Workable?
|
You could be some underground weapons dealer/informant we all go to.
|
See, I have a lot of ideas for guns and ammo.. but I don't feel like going out and getting dead. Of course, this is entirely contingent on Drakes approval... signup in a moment.

Okay, not hoverbike for starters. Not on roof, complete opposite side of the train. It was just to show the kind of breakneck stunt Axis is likely to do. |
So far you guys are doing alright.
Dante, at no point did I say you HAD to be a combat-oriented character. Feel free to be whatever you want to be. Anyway, yeah you guys are doing fine. If I feel I need to step in, I will. I figure I'll start guiding things after this train thing is over with. Noticing some cliches, but that's to be expected, no? Keep up the good work. |
My bio. Hope it works. changes may come soon...
Name: Mihotoke Issha AKA "Buccha" Age: 33 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Japanese Height: 6' 5" Weight: 340 lbs Hair: None Eyes: Brown Occupation: Armorer and co-proprietor of the Big Gun 888 Weapon Emporium. Description: The first word that comes to mind when people see him is "huge". And that's because he is. Mihotoke Issha (Or "Buccha", as people call him) towers over almost everybody else around him, and he appears to be a massive overweight bald man, tanned a dark brown through long-term exposure to the sun. However, underneath that thin layer of fat lie muscles like steel cables, and many who have dismissed him as a soft weakling have soon regretted the error of the judgement shortly before being smashed flat. He wears a pair of fingerless gloves with nickel spikes built into the knuckles. Despite his vast size, his muscle mass allows him to move surprisingly fast, as well as crush skulls like grapes when he has to. Arsenal: Buccha has access to all manner of strange and exotic weaponry, and among his favorites is the Benelli Clericuzio high-impulse rifle. For crowd-control situations he also employs a Maxtor Smartgun loaded with incendiary and armor-piercing rounds in a 1:3 ratio. Background: As mentioned before, Buccha is the resident armorer at the Big Gun 888 Weapon Emporium. Together with the proprietor Mai Da Chiang, he runs the place and keeps the stock in proper working condition. Occasionally, when customers request a special order, want modifications to their weapons, or trash a rare piece of weaponry so badly it becomes unusable, they come to him, and he makes it work. From time to time, Buccha goes scavenging with the Vulcha Skwad, Big Gun 888's resident mercenary band, but he is usually found helping out around the community when not working. The arrangement with Mai Da Chiang is fairly informal - he does anything and goes anywhere he wants in the city, but when new stock comes, or his presence is required, Mai Da Chiang calls Buccha on his mobile and Buccha arrives within half an hour. Arsenal Notes Benelli Martello Rocket Rifle Resembling a World War II Panzerfaust weapon with a top-loading magazine at the end, this 15-shot weapon is unique and deadly, in that it does not fire conventional bullets per se, but self-contained 14mm rockets. It is a two-stage weapon - first, a conventional primer ignites and pushes the shell out of the weapon. Once the rocket has cleared the barrel, the second stage - the rocket motor - ignites. The propellant in the second stage burns extremely fast, in a spiralling pattern, accelerating the chromed payload to briefly hypersonic speeds in a sudden burst of fire and setting it to spin in a clockwise turn. The rockets used by the Martello are invariably solid-slug kinetic penetrators, the better to shear through powered combat armor with, but interesting ammunition variants have been seen, including miniature HEAT rounds, depleted uranium long-rod APFSDS payloads, among others. The Martello has very little recoil, given that the only recoil force experienced by the firer is that of the rocket leaving the barrel. In addition, the high-impulse second stage ignition coupled with the rocket's own formidable mass gives it an unparalleled range and killing power. However, the Martello was designed for troops in powered armor, and thus it is exceedingly heavy. While the ammunition uses the most stable compounds known to man, it is still not completely safe, and tragedies have occured when the Martello's magazine was struck by a lucky shot. It is aimed and fired almost like a normal rifle, except that the sights are on the side of the weapon, and Buccha's Martello has a miniature faceplate rigged in front of it to protect him from the backblast of the rocket. Maxtor Bozar Smartgun The Bozar is a sophisticated piece of equipment. Designed to interface with powered combat armor, it is nevertheless capable of being used on its own with an external power pack and computing module. The Bozar itself is basically an 8mm machinegun mounted on an actuated servo-armature that attaches to a body harness. It uses a free-floating barrel to minimize experienced recoil and a weighty sensor module near the weapon's tip to analyze visual data and establish target locks. The reason why the Bozar is called a "smartgun" is because it automatically computes and compensates for anticipated movement of the target, firer movement, inclement conditions, shooting through cover and what have you. The servo-arm automatically moves to aim - the user serves as a firing platform, his arms supporting the weight of the weapon, and the weapon fires automatically when it reaches the appropriate position. The result is deadly accurate burst fire at ranges of up to 500m, and the multiple types of ammunition it can take make it a versatile tool as well. Examples of its variant ammunition types include glass monofilament AP rounds, Glaser Mk II flechette warheads, and depleted uranium long-rod penetrators. The armature is long and allows for interesting firing angles, such as directly behind the user's point of view, and so on. The Bozar's internal computer has multiple means of establishing target locks, such as infrared, ultrasonic echolocation and radar, to name a few. It usually uses two or three means at once, just in case the target possesses countermeasures against one. As might be expected of any weapon designed to be used by power-armored infantry, the Bozar is incredibly heavy, and it is only because of Buccha's strength that he can carry it at all. In addition, the weapon's sensor suite demands a lot of power, and the Bozar must be recharged after each major skirmish it goes through. Power armor suits provide increased strength and the pwoer sources of a micro-fusion reactor, but thus far Buccha has found no power-armor suits that fit him. |
How would some roller blades let a big fat guy do anything athletic? Just because he is moving fast doesn't mean he can move around, it just means his chances of falling down are higher.

Just because you're a NPC doesn't mean you should god mod.
Though, no roller blades will save you from guns (Actually, nothing can be saved from guns), so it doesn't really matter. |
