There can be only one....

If you had to pick one band to listen to in hell for the rest of eternity which one would it be and why? Keep in mind of the number of records the band has out and if you say something lame I hope it happens for ya!:D

Mine would be Nine Inch Nails because of the variation of sound and flawless synthenization of Trent Reznor. There is no era of NIN that would seriously annoy me. Plus it would fit the mood.

Lost in Time 04-04-2009 12:20 AM

Even his brand new Strobelight album you'd enjoy?

ClassicSm0ke 04-04-2009 12:26 AM

...I'd get over it. They kinda sucked when I saw em in concert too. Reznor had just shaved his head bald and the music live sounded awful....if I can get over that I can get over Strobelight.

Lost in Time 04-04-2009 12:29 AM

Well to stay on topic here is my answer after a little amount of thought: Pink Floyd. Just for the reasons that they do have a lengthy discography and a wide range of sound so I won't get bored with one genre. And I already do enjoy all their songs. Other bands that I might have chosen either have a small discography or contain songs that are just plain shitty.

Cid Highwind 04-04-2009 10:58 AM

Since Pink Floyd is already taken (*cough*avatar*hack*), I'm just gonna go with Slipknot on this one. If its hell, it might as well sound like it is.

Sorry, I prefer variety.

I would abhor having to stick with any single band or artist for any extended period of time.

Nique 04-04-2009 04:55 PM

It's between Weezer and Coldplay. I know they're very mainstream so all you HYYYYYYPPPPPSST-TURs can shut it. They're mainstream for a reason and their disography has enough variety to keep me from going insane longer than any other band I can think of atm.

Kim 04-04-2009 07:42 PM

NPF has HYYYYYYPPPPPSST-TURs?

Probably Mindless Self Indulgence. They're catchy and fun, and there's enough variation between their CD's that if I got bored of a particular sound I could switch to another.

Viridis 04-04-2009 07:45 PM

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra or They Might Be Giants. The first is awesome, the second is weird and catchy. And a lot of my music collection I have more for the interesting lyrics than the feel. TMBG and Jonathan Coulton are good examples.

Well, it's real easy to get over things like that when April 2nd rolls around.

The Artist Formerly Known as Hawk 04-05-2009 12:23 PM

Kamelot. I enjoy every song they've made and would never get bored of listening to any of them. Seriously you could just keep playing Center of the universe or Wings of despair forever and I'd be happy with that.

Melfice 04-05-2009 12:40 PM

Define "listen to for all eternity".
Like, "plays all the goddamned time to the point where you don't even here the music anymore"-eternity, or "this is the only band you can listen to, but whenever you want it"-eternity.

Anyway... I guess right now, it'd have to be Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble.
Sweet music. What else can I say?

ClassicSm0ke 04-05-2009 08:08 PM

Only band and you have to listen.... it's hell.

TheSparrow 04-05-2009 10:28 PM

Pink Floyd or Tom Waits, both have lengthy and large discographies and both have very eclectic and varied sounds throughout their careers

Fenris 04-05-2009 11:37 PM

John Coltrane

QFT!

However, if I had to choose, I'd be stuck between Newsboys and VNV Nation.

Mike McC 04-06-2009 10:52 AM

You know, listening to Pink Floyd for all eternity would be a very evil, wicked punishment deserving of Hell. It really would be.

Meanwhile, I'm caught up on a choice between Mozart and Beethoven. I don't know which would have the longest lasting intellectual stimulation. Mozart has the bigger catalouge, but Beethoven has written the most amazing pieces of music ever.

Oh, was this supposed to be modern music? Fuck that shit, I'll listen to the screams of agony.

Funka Genocide 04-06-2009 12:07 PM

the barenaked ladies, because then it would be like Canadian hell, and likely just like, really bland and cold with not many people around.

and hey, there'd be poutine!

Yrcrazypa 04-08-2009 01:13 PM

No one said Queen yet? They have a really lengthy discography and all but a very few number of songs are gold. And the ones that AREN'T gold, are still better than almost anything else that gets shoveled out today. (I'm looking at YOU Beyonce, specifically that new horrible song talking about how she is single.)
