Avvy the Seventh Planning Thread: Let's Get This Show on the Road

Official Thread of Avvy 7 Planningness.

All right youse guys, it's that time of year again. Let's solidify some ideas for the next game.

Anyone who has a plotline they'd like to suggest, do so here. You should probably also clarify whether you'd prefer to be GMing said plotline.

After we get a few good ideas, in a week or so, maybe Fenris or Krylo would be so kind as to create a poll for us so we can vote.

Ideas, comments, and questions from the Avvy crowd, begin.

i honestly think that having an army or Ghost Robots at some point would be interesting. Mecha Ghosts are the deadliest creatures in the spiritual Kingdom. Also, have some Nazi Velociraptors riding T-rexes that shoot laser or sommething...

As for theme and setting, i dunno... you probably could dance around the "Musical" idea that was pitched earlier on. Or even go a bit more "gamer" and take a note of Dissidia... one huge battle between Order and Chaos were each one faces a equally powerfull nemesis... that's something.

NPF Noir. A macguffin has been stolen, we have suspects, but there's people out to kill us at every turn!

And then we beat up some Persian themed guy with a god complex.

Oh wait, that's Watchmen. Carry on.

Heh heh, Krylo creating a poll.

When you said NPF Noir I automatically thought of the 1940's film style. Then you said Watchmen and made me sad.

Cuz I'd be all for that. Think about it: Shady characters, tough detectives, femme fatales, chiaroscuro lighting, and fedoras. Fedoras are sexy.

I'll go ahead and suggest NPF Zombie Apocalypse again. I'd be willing to try my hand at GMing or at least co-GMing it. I'll present my ideas in more detail later tonight or tomorrow, when I'm not rushing to get ready for work.

Stranger things have happened.

Oh wait, I keep forgetting Krylo's not a mod anymore. Okay, so maybe FENRIS will make a poll for us.

I liked this idea when I thought of it, so may as well bring it up.

NPF plays Mafia. Basically a mafia game, but in character, and altered rules to make it an RP (Or cheating). Basically there would be roles, but they aren't the only ones who can act (Anyone could), anything could happen during day along with the lynching, dead people aren't out (Because it's an RP) and would get their own thread or something (Zombie attack?). Preferably night would still be in secret, but would be annoying to do, but otherwise it's not really mafia.

I think we've tapped out that whole Order vs Chaos thing, for now at least. Three Avvies have been connected to it.

On that note, I think we need a break from global/universal apocalypses. Something city levelling or smaller would be nice. For example, zombie outbreak!

Anyway, to repackage the two mostly developed ideas I had:

1) What is a man?
Some strange force is leeching the humanity out of the NPF and putting it in other things for reasons that are undoubtably nefarious!

Everyone must track down the source of this drain before they are turned into an animal/vegetable/mineral... Yeah, still working out what the exact effect of lost humanity is. I think I'll give a number of options so people can pick something they'd have the most fun with it. The 'makes you more evil' option does not seem like a good option.

It would be designed to be a little more player driven than normal - people will be chasing up leads while fighting off the hordes of stupid googly eyed animated objects and mecha musume battalions. There will be a few red herrings which will inolve foiling random other nascent plots against the NPF they run into.

The villain is a blast from the past. Also, not a player!

2) Chrono Avvy
May have a suspicious resemblance to certain well known video games starting with 'Chrono'.

The NPFers find themselves unexpectedly hurled into the far future. It is a bad future. Meeting their future selves/descendants, they discover this occurred because they were not present to battle something terrible. While preparing to travel back and sort out this whole 'Day of Ravos' (name may be subject to change) deal, they may also have to deal with time colonists wanting to escape into the past and conquer the NPF with their futuristic supertechnology!

And then things get worse.

To avoid misunderstandings I should admit there won't be too much actual time travel. I think coming up with the future NPF and its inhabitants will be a lot of fun though. I'll be needing a lot of player input on that, as you can imagine.

Dislike that this one could be read as moderately apocalyptic but I have an idea or two to fix that I think.

Having learned from my previous mistakes, I estimate either one would take about three months to run, since I would like to move back towards shorter Avvies.

I like this idea, since it would allow me to showcase my so far unused ability to put together films during the inevitable "movie reel showing the Day of Ravos" scene, but I don't think I'll be playing this time, so the point's kinda moot. Really, I'm not sure why I'm even reading this thread.

Poll made.

Also, I like my "Mauve Buys Milk" idea.

I'm fine with a noir or Chrono RP, but I think it might be kinda of hard to keep talking like a gaggle of gals and fellas trodding down the Big Muddy searching for an enstablishment to cool our choppers.
