Pokemon has been around for too many years to still be wasting my time.
 

I mean serious this is getting ridiculous, I'm squandering 3-4 hours a day if not more playing this game and I've come to the realization that all I'm actually doing is grinding little monsters to do my bidding.

And yet it's highly addicting and every time I think I'm done with the game a new one gets made and I go out and buy it and the cycle repeats for the next 3+ years. Of course we're talking about the handheld games because they haven't really had a good console Pokemon game since the original Stadium.

Am I the only one who still plays this game? I can't possibly be the only one still playing Pokemon and enjoying it.

e: I've also discovered that up until the Elite 4, you can run through the entire game with your starter, Shinx, Starly, and some random rock Pokemon.

I'm an avid fan an I think that if I ad a DSi, and Pokemon Platinum, then my life would totally go down the tubes.

See I won't buy a DSi until I see some kind of downloadable content goodness.

Pokemon Platinum is why we can't have nice things.

I'm training my competition team right now...Magnezone, Staraptor, Infernape, Roserade, Garchomp, and possibly Gastrodon

Obligatory that, but I agree the series was a decently awesome RPG, and probably still is, I just can't help but think it's gotten ridiculous with the sheer number of Pokemon. I don't know how people can possibly keep track of them all!

You learn to ignore or forget the really mediocre or craptastic/gimmick pokemon..that shortens the list up a good bit

I was able to get somewhat "clean" of this addiction, but i must admit that with each game, i weaken a little...

If they ever release that Pokemon MMORPG we all secretly want... i'll be a homeless guy with ADSL

I always wait for the third game in each Gen now, due to it usually being pretty expanded over the previous editions. I'll have to decide on this or some more Shin Megami Tensei games (which are, let's face it, a cooler, darker, but less addicting Pokemon).

Back in my day, evolution just meant you had a more badass Pokemon.

They are really good RPG's still. That's one thing I guess I'd like to see from the franchise though, other than the MMO we'll never get. I'd like the consoles (read: Wii) to get a Pokemon game that isn't a "hey look you can put your handheld here and battle on a bigger screen). How about a story with a plot and things to do and make the multiplayer less. I mean they could make it a story based on your guy/girl after he/she becomes amazing...

I don't know. I like lore. Pokemon lacks lore.

I just kinda fell out of love with Pokemon. I still enjoy it now and then, it's just... lost the spark.
