Tuxedos, and how to look sexy in them
 

Okay, so I'm apparently am going to the prom with me girlfriend on May 2nd. So I'm posting here because I am roaming through tuxedos. I've actually already picked mine out

However I am curious about the opinions of the general populous of NPF, what are your opinions on tuxedos, and what do you think looks good? And for you girls, what do you like to see in a tux? And while you guys are at it talk about some of your awesome stories that involve a tux.

I don't know, white suits only work, for me anyway, with a matching white hat. I HATE formal wear, but my prom tux was nice, make sure it's comfortable. DEFINITELY go to a place that can do alterations. and MAke sure you have it done WAY in advance.

First off: that Tux is dang sexy. I love white tuxes. Pinstrips are a definate plus too.

Although you have to be careful as white on someone too pale can just make you look like a ghost, I would think. And if you're concerned about that, there's nothing like a good old black tux. (although I think I would still go with the white, be more original than 90% of the other people there while still being stylish) If you and your girlfriend like it, then you're good to go!

I thought tuxedo was exclusively the one with the bowtie? This I would call a three-piece suit (a fine one, mind).

It's mostly involving the pants, tuxedo pants are special

What's your body shape like? As picking the right style and type of Tuxedo is entirely dependant on that.

I always thought a tuxedo or dinner suit, was more to do with the shirt and jacket than the tie. Though you're right, if you're going to the trouble of getting a dress shirt and dinner jacket, a bow tie usually finishes it off nicely. The main advantage of a bow tie is not getting in the way when you want to eat food, but if you're going to wear a waistcoat I guess that doesn't really matter. Personally I prefer the standard all black with white shirt option, but I'm sure you can make the white look damn good. :cool:

P.S. white stains easily.

I just remembered this important bit. She might want you two to wear a particular color, sorry to squash your dreams of an awesome white pimpsuit, maybe you can agree on an awesome color or color combo.

*cough* Um guys when I made this I meant it more as a general discussion of tuxedos in general. She helped pick out the bloody tux and thinks very highly of the thing. I just wanted general opinions, didn't need advice. Sorry if it sounded like that. So don't worry, everything is going to work out and I am going to be pimpin' in my tux.
