I should really let this Ulquiorra thing go, but for some reason I can't. I think maybe that reason is that it's very stupid of him. I mean, when you can't even make a cogent response to The Power of Friendship, you should just shut up and fight someone.

pretty sure Ulquiorra is a vasto lorde. Look at when they described the different menos levels, notice the pictures of each. Notice the one of vasto lorde, now look at Ulquiorra, notice anything?

Ulquiorra doesn't believe in anything he can't see. Which means, if he's not looking at you, you don't exist to him.

So therefore, he could simply not be looking at any souls or be so advanced to the point that he doesn't see souls as individual items, so therefore they don't exist to him.

Or, Arrancar no longer need to eat souls to survive, thanks to being more like shinigami. As a giant, powerful hollow, it's likely that Ulquiorra was one of those big thumping ones, that looked at souls as if they were krill. Once he became human and recivilized, he easily forgot about his past life, and since his life as a Arrancar, he hasn't seen any plus-s.

Actually i think Ulquiorra qas going a bit more poetic on that note... more on the sense of "You keep talking about your soul, like that's going to do anything FOR you", in the sense that Orihime's emotional "shield" was her soul fueled by her friends soul, binded as one

and Ulquiorra was all like "Naw bitch, your metaphorical shield can't stop my hand on'yo skull"

As for Aizen's magic ball, those chump double digit espada that even Chad beat were naturally occurring arrancars. One of them talked about how they were the top till Aizen showed up and made better versions.

well lets not forget arrancar and menos are not inherantly related. As was shown even a gillian, the lowest level, can be an arrancar, and grand fisher showed even non-menos hollows can as well. Arrancar is a boost, an add on ability, and no way related to the evolution of a hollow

hollows eat to ease their eternal suffering, it was mentioned way early on. Though like soul reapers they probably do eat to replenish spiritual energy, but remember hollows home plane of existance has incredibly dense level of spirit particles. Over time they can probably just respise their energy by sitting. Normal food probably works too, wasn't that what yammy was doing?
