.Hack//NPF OOC/Sign-Up

First of all, make sure you can type decently(which doesn't seem to be a problem on the NP Boards, but I've seen a couple of you, and you know who you are) before signing up.

I'm making a .Hack//Nuklear Power Forum RPG. I strongly advise that those who don't know what .Hack//FRANCHISE's "The World" is and/or its game mechanics, please don't sign up for this RPG. If you still want to, then by all means do so; I won't know if you're BSing or not.

This is an always-open RP. There was a cut-off point for certain starting levels, but that's the only cut-off point. To make this a bit more like a MMORPG, people can join whenever they want, just like a real MMORPG.

Okay, RPing for this will be a little strange. You're going to have a "Real Life" character, and a "The World" character. Actually, you can have multiple "The World" characters, all played by the same "Real Life" character. And let me clarify the "Real Life" character is not you. You can fill your personal information if you want to so badly, but I don't want you to. So, you have two sign up sheets. And everything has to be filled out(no "mysteries," okay?).
Everyone who signs up from this point on must now be a starting play of "The World."

"Real Life" Character
Name:
Gender:
Age:
Occupation:
Bio:
Location: (Country will suffice; you can list a city and state/province/territory/whatever if you want)

"The World" Character
Name:
Gender:
Level: 1
Class: (Crimson Knights are "Blademaster - Crimson Knight" just like the card game)
Appearance: (Has to be a class appearance; no Wavemasters lookings like Heavy Blades. Also, no character mods like Mia or Helba)
Equipment: (Has to be actual .Hack stuff; matters because of skills available)
Bio: N/A(Your character is COMPLETELY new, as in your real life character just got "The World" today and is logging in for the very first time with your first post NEW. Therefore, your character can't have a bio.)

Since people are too lazy to go to gamefaqs.com and type in a search, here's
a link to the .Hack//Infection section of GameFAQ's database. If you're too lazy to search any further than that, then I don't want you playing my game.

My Sheet
"Real Life" Character
Name: Kyle
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Occupation: Anime Shop Owner/Manager
Bio: Kyle is fully fluent in Japanese, having graduated from his college with a minor in the language. Using this to his advantage, he opened his own anime shop, though he is often disgruntled that the customers often neglect anime with good storylines for anime with crisp animation, or fanservice. On few occassions, he has had to throw customers out of his store for not having even heard of "Akira." His major is in computer programming, which he takes freelance jobs to work on during his break time. He also spends time writing fanfiction and posting it on the Internet.
Location: U.S.A.

"The World" Character
Name: Otaku
Gender: Male
Level: 10
Class: Blademaster - Crimson Knight
Appearance: Otaku appears like any other Crimson Knight, with brown armor and a helmet with horns an red eyes. However, the way to find him among the group of Crimon Knights is by the long, silver hair sticking out from the back of his helmet.
Equipment: Weapon - Dogman's Sword, Body - Grand Armor, Head - Face Helm, Leg - Leather Legs, Hand - Silver Hands
Bio: Otaku is known across "The World" as one of the more friendly Crimson Knights, who explores despite the Crimson Knights usually stay in a group to protect Subaru. As such, Genki has been known to scold Otaku for not guarding Subaru like the others, and that Crimson Knights are not meant to be seen in the pesence of vagabons like BT and Crim. But, Otaku does, and his sword has given aide on multiple occassions to regular players.

GAMEPLAY AS FOLLOWS
1. Party System - As you know, three party members are the max. The way I want to do this is have the leader of the party take command of his partymates while the party is "assembled." Forumers who are planning to create a party should contact each otherin advance and decide on the party leader ahead of time, so the RPing can flow fast. The party leader then decides all the action for all three partymates, and anything that happens on the field. If I feel the party leader is cheating the field(E.G. a group of three Level 10s easily taking out five Level 40 monsters), I will step in somehow(take control of the monsters, put a system admin. in the field, server crash, whatever). Party leader should PM me about the monsters and treasure in a field before selecting the field.

2. Real World and "The World" - "Real Life" should be differentiated from "The World" posts like so.

Real Life
Today sucked for Jon Doe. He got mugged and hit by a car. Somehow he managed to get hit by a car, so he decided to log in to "The World" to take his anger out by PKing someone.

The World
Jane Doe appeared at the Chaos Gate. She approached Crim and casted Hellfire on him because, in real life, John Doe's day sucked. She didn't know why she was attacking Crim, since Crim was a world-renown Level 100 Long Arm, while she was Level 1, but she didn't care.

3. .Hack//FRANCHISE Canons - The .Hack//FRANCHISE's canon characters are under my control, which means no attacking Crim unless I put Crim there.

4. .Hack//ANIME or .Hack//GAMES? - As far as equipment, skills, and HP are concerned, we're using the .Hack//GAMES. Everything else(including fight scenes and non-HP stats) can be done as they are in the .Hack//ANIME.

5. Fighting In Root Towns - Not permitted. Simple as that.

6. Don't Neglect Your Real Life Character - If I feel you are neglecting your Real Life character, your World character will suffer some kind of data corruption.

7. PvP - In the case of NPCs, you can fight however you want. If you want to fight another player of this RPG, both fighters are to PM me on who they want to be victorious in the battle(just so I know one isn't lying about the other). If there's a descrepancy, it's taken from there.

8. The First Post - Anyone who has apparently not read this post(kinda obvious because they set the character level too high, ask questions to which the answer is already here, etc.) will NOT BE ALLOWED TO JOIN.

IHateMakingNames 04-22-2004 09:11 PM

If I join (Which I of course will since I join all RPs), I'm basically going to copy that one assassin guy from //hack.sign. Some high levelled assassin who PKs people all the time. The Crimsom Knights would hate my guy.

MC43 04-22-2004 09:14 PM

Oh, this sounds like a blast and a half, but I have to admit, I only know a little of the .Hack world. I could try and fake it, but I'll see if there is a lot of interest, then I'll post somethin' up...

Otaku on 04-22-2004 09:16 PM

Sora? That brings up a question(which IHMN already casted his vote for, obviously).

Do you guys want to play in "The World" 1.0 where PKing is allowed, or 2.0 where PKing is prohibitted?

IHateMakingNames 04-22-2004 09:19 PM

Just noticed... We can only go up to level 20 out of 100? Can't be much of a PKer like that (Though I still want PKing).

Elminster_Amaur 04-22-2004 09:19 PM

By canon chars. do you mean all of the chars. in the games, books, Sign, Dusk and the gay one that comes with the games?

And by char. mods does Balmung count?

Otaku on 04-22-2004 09:38 PM

Yep, except for the books. In order for Kite and Blackrose to exist, it has to be pre-books, since the books take place after Kite and Blackrose quit. But, I'm not saying all the canons will be there. Heck, if you're unlucky, your character might be ignored by the canons.

I count Balmung as a character mod because he's the only one with that character model in the game. How he got that one is beyond me, though, except that he's pretty famous and is also a game admin. So, yeah, anyone with a character model outside the normal counts as a "character mod."

Elminster_Amaur 04-22-2004 09:42 PM

And by that, I'm to suppose that even the most insignificant chars in the games count 'eh.

Well...I'll come up with a Sign-up. Give me 15mins.

IHateMakingNames 04-22-2004 09:42 PM

Books? What? How much knowledge of the .hack world do we need to know for this?

CelesJessa 04-22-2004 09:48 PM

I'm fairly familiar with the world of .hack. (I've read the first two mangas of .hack//Legend of the Twilight.

Would that be enough to qualify for knowing enough to join the rp? I hope so, I've wanted to do a .hack RP for a long time ^^

(And I hope the .hack games aren't TOO different from the mangas.)
