The prison system solved!
ok, i have an idea that will change the way you look at the prison system forever.
how do you get rid of overcrowded jails? death penalty?NO! Veal boxes! when someone comits a crime is found guilty, they are put into a veal box for a set period of time. maximum amounts of prisoners in one place. you decrease the time that someone would normaly spend by 3/4 and put them in a box where they crap in the same place they live and they can't move. i mean, there would obviously be people to maintain the prisoners. ie: feed them, clean them, let them walk around for a few hours a day so their muscles don't atrophy. problem solved. hopefuly this isn't spam to anyone, just an original idea in easy to swallow rant form. |
The only reason why they havn't done that is because it's considered cruel.
|
It wouldn't be cruel is everyone was doing it...let's face it, people in are only there because they're unlucky or unlawful. Unlucky people should suffer to balance out for me rolling 20's in D&D, and unlawful people have to be removed from the gene pool to prevent my children from being mugged in the street 20 years from now.
|
That's sort of a genocidal view....lmao, and i'm a claner too!
|
Actually I think they have something similar to that in many third world countries. Minus the whole take time off your sentance for this bit. But hey, if you die they'll cut it short. Moral of the story is dont screw up in other countries.

I think the really bad prisoners should be set to icky community service, like seperating the recyclables out of landfills.

1. Less crimes 2. Smarter/sneakier thieves :D The whole "eye for an eye" sentiment is exactly how we should run. If someone steals, take their hands. Cheats, ... you get the idea. Still, people will say "What about murder? Isnt killing the murderer's only promoting what it is that you are trying to prevent?" Yes, but at the same time way more people will think twice if they know they will die. Also, take out this bullshit "insanity" defense. Hey, you brought a fugging gun to school. Thats premeditated. I dont give a crap if you have had a bad life. So have I, but you dont see me bringing a gun to school and killing my classmates. It wasnt like the gun was just sitting in the classroom begging you to pick it up and shoot them. No, your ass had to conciously take that gun to school, being careful enough not to get caught with it, wait for the right moment, and then and only then will you start firing. You arent psycho, your just a punk-assed kid who thought that you would get attention from death. You did, but only for a while. Your still just a nothing. Same goes for all the other bullshit insanity defenses out there. D.C. Sniper? Hah, those dumb idiots aren't insane. They conciously avoided the police, attempted to exploit the government for $10 million, and did it over a variety of states. How dumb could you be? Belief in the insanity defense is as dumb as the people who state they are insane. http://www.fancysplace.com/smileys/ranton.gif |
The insanity defense is rarely used, and works even less often. It's often hyped up by TV shows and stuff, but the truth is that it's a very risky defense. It has to be claimed from the very start and if you fail using it you basically guarantee that you'll go to prison. It involves admitting you commited the crime and weren't in a proper state of mind during the time. So if it doesn't go through, you've basically pled guilty already.
|
True, true, but serial killers use (with success I might add) that defense all the time. How the hell did they become a serial killer? By hiding their crime and all the evidence before it. That still denotes a nominal amount of sanity, enough to try, and convict, them on the grounds that they are sane. You cant possibly tell me that people killing others over a span of 3 years are insane? If they were they wouldnt be able to keep it a bloody secret for 3 years.
|
I don't think insanity automatically rules out rational behavior. I mean, psychosis is a form of insanity, and psychopaths can be utterly logical killing machines who can flawlessly plan and execute the act of murdering a person yet not understand why it is *morally* wrong.
Who was that guy who said that all geniuses were insane in some way? |
